The Division 2’s Echoes of Central Park Is Out Now

The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Ubisoft announced in a November 3, 2026 press release. Ubisoft calls it the biggest expansion for The Division 2 since Warlords of New York, and it is the first time the series lets players into Central Park.

The Details

  • Where it takes place. The campaign opens in the Upper West Side, from Lincoln Square to the Dakota District, with missions at landmarks such as the Natural History Museum, before moving into the park itself. The map is much larger than Battle for Brooklyn’s, Ubisoft says.
  • A horror story. Ubisoft says it draws on horror: people turning up dead or missing, rumours of a new virus variant, and a new “apex threat” living in the park.
  • Three companions. Brayleigh Callahan is a Sniper and an Olympic medalist in shooting, Elwood Franklin is a Protector and a former mall cop who wants to join the NYPD, and Morse Feeney is an Assault type and a first-wave Division agent. You earn their trust through their backstories, bring one at a time, and can swap companions when you replay missions.
  • A replayable endgame. Early trips into the park mean surviving waves of enemies with no GPS help. After the story you return as the hunter, and how each fight goes decides whether you earn a reward or carry a disadvantage into the next one. Each companion gives different battle buffs.
  • New skills and gear. Six new skill variants, including the Corrosive Trap and The Gas Bomber, a new Exotic weapon called the Ratel, and a new gear set. The Steam listing adds a 50-slot stash increase.

What This Means for Players

The Steam listing says the expansion requires the base game and includes a level 40 boost, so new or lapsed agents can start the campaign right away. Neither the release nor the listing names Warlords of New York as a requirement.

If your build leans on Prototype Gear, expect it to hit softer in the park for now. Ubisoft says Prototype Gear is normalized inside Echoes of Central Park at launch “to preserve the intended challenge,” and the developers plan to restore its full strength there later.

The campaign plays solo or in co-op, and if your squad is split across platforms, our story on The Division 2’s crossplay rollout covers how that works.
