Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the concluding chapter of the remake trilogy, launches April 8, 2027 exclusively on PlayStation 5, and put a Tokyo Game Show demo in players’ hands on September 17, 2026. The Details
Two long-requested party members are playable. Vincent fights with a dual identity: chaining standard firearm attacks evolves his abilities “from Blood Moon to Execration and then Retribution, increasing in power relative to the hit count.” His monster transformation has no time limit, but it raises his Chaos level, which steadily cuts his maximum HP. Power with a running cost, in other words, which is a more interesting version of the transformation Vincent has had since 1997.
Cid is an aerial spear fighter. Chaining Square attacks and hitting Square again at the exact moment he is “cloaked in a blue aura” opens derivative attacks including Dragon Spin, Hyper Dive, and Ground Pound, so his damage depends on reading a visual timing cue rather than a meter.
The demo also introduced FITS, a system of four combat uniforms: Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner. Each unlocks a different ability set, and Cloud’s Summoner FITS calls Ifrit, Shiva, Titan and others to fight alongside him for a limited duration. The demo closed on a Jenova Death fight built around wide-area fire and tentacle attacks.
What This Means for Players
