The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Romance Lacra

Lacra is romanceable in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and because she is a full vrakhir rather than a dawnwalker, her entire questline is night-only. You meet her in Svartrau City, and the romance is decided across five quests, with the last one both optional and missable.

Meeting Lacra

In Svartrau City, Coen hears that something has been wrecking the city’s rooftops. The culprit is Lacra, dragging a captured Uriash through the city for interrogation.

The trigger sits around the inner walls northeast of the Svartrau capital. It fires automatically when you arrive, you will need Focus Mode to investigate, and it must be done at night. If you have been running daytime errands in Svartrau and wondering why nothing happens, that is why.

The Quest Chain

Her arc runs through five quests in order:

  1. A Friend Like This
  2. The Song of the Mountain
  3. Hive and Seek
  4. Our Rotten Roots
  5. The Night of Horrors

The Choices That Matter

A Friend Like This. Beat her in the fight, then spare the Uriash. Take the committed options: “You have my word” and “I promise.”

The Song of the Mountain. Avoid combat with the Uriash entirely. Take the pacifist route, including agreeing to drop your weapons when asked.

Hive and Seek. Follow her into the cave and compliment her.

Our Rotten Roots. Apologise for prying into her past. She is guarded, and pushing harder here reads as exactly the intrusion she is braced for.

The Night of Horrors. This is the make-or-break quest, and it is optional, so it is entirely possible to finish her arc without realising the romance was still live. Eat the Mandrake, follow her, and choose to kiss her. Accepting her offered blood is also part of the scene.

What Makes Lacra Different

Unlike Anca, you can disagree with Lacra and act against her wishes during her arc without ending the romance. She is closed off rather than fragile, and the failure state is missing her quests or refusing the final scene rather than saying the wrong thing in conversation.

The practical cost is time. Every one of these quests spends Time Segments and can only be done at night, which is half your clock. Our time limit guide covers how tight that budget really is.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I romance Lacra during the day?

No. She is a traditional vrakhir rather than a dawnwalker, so her entire questline is night-only.

Is The Night of Horrors required?

It is optional as a quest, but it is where the romance is consummated. Skip it and the romance does not complete.

Can I disagree with Lacra?

Yes. Her romance survives disagreement, unlike Anca’s, which is more sensitive to how you treat her.

Can I romance more than one character?

Yes. Our guide on romancing everyone covers running all three arcs in a single playthrough.
