Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: All Great Fairy Locations

Official key art for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

There are four Great Fairies in Tears of the Kingdom, and none of them open for rupees. Each one wakes to music, which means finding the Stable Trotters and reuniting the band one member at a time. Four fairies, four missing musicians.

Great Fairy Tera

Next to the Military Training Camp and Woodland Stable, closest to the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower.

This is the one to do first, because it needs no searching: Violynne the violinist is already with the band, and Tera only needs to hear her. Waking Tera is what starts the whole chain.

Great Fairy Kaysa

By the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower and Outskirt Stable.

The Stable Trotters turn up at Outskirt Stable needing their flautist. Find them, and the fairy follows.

Great Fairy Cotera

In the Dueling Peaks region, south of Kakariko Village and near the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower.

The band is at Dueling Peaks Stable here, missing their drummer.

Great Fairy Mija

In Hebra, next to Snowfield Stable and the Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower.

The Trotters are at Snowfield Stable looking for their horn player, Eustus. This is the coldest of the four trips, so take cold resistance.

How the Quest Works

The chain is called Serenade to a Great Fairy, and it is the same shape each time: find the band at the stable near a fairy, take on their request to locate the missing member, bring them back, and the performance wakes the fairy.

Because each fairy needs a different musician, you cannot shortcut the order. Tera first, then the rest.

What They Actually Do

Great Fairies upgrade armour, and that is the entire reason to bother. Each successive fountain you open raises the tier of upgrade available, so all four have to be awake before you can max anything out.

Upgrades cost monster parts and materials. Our guides on how to fuse weapons and how to farm Zonaite cover gathering, and how to take a picture covers the Compendium sensor that tracks down specific materials.

Finding the Missing Musicians

Each missing band member is somewhere out in the world rather than at a stable, and the game marks the search area rather than the exact spot. At least one of them, the horn player Eustus, has to be rescued before he will travel anywhere.

The practical approach is to treat each one as a short side quest rather than a fetch: talk to the Trotters first so the quest is active, then follow the marker. Trying to find a musician before the band has asked for them will not trigger anything.

Do It Before the Depths

Armour upgrades are the difference between surviving the Depths and retreating from them constantly. Our guides on how to get to the Depths and how to cure gloom damage cover what you are preparing for.
