Sims 3: How to Increase Visa Level

In The Sims 3: World Adventures, your Sim can travel to China, Egypt, or France and explore each destination through adventures, relic hunting, and tomb exploration. As they complete activities in a destination, they gain Visa Points. Earning enough points increases your Sim’s Visa Level, unlocking longer stays, exclusive rewards, and even the ability to purchase a vacation home.

What Is Visa Level?

A Sim’s Visa Level represents how well-known and trusted they are in a particular foreign country. Each world (Al Simhara, Champs Les Sims, and Shang Simla) tracks Visa Level separately. The levels range from 0 to 3:

  • Level 0: New visitor
  • Level 1: Short extension on trip time
  • Level 2: Medium extension and access to more merchant items
  • Level 3: Longest vacation stay and ability to purchase a vacation home

How to Increase Visa Level in The Sims 3

To increase your Sim’s Visa Level, you need to earn Visa Points. Here’s how to do that efficiently:

  1. Complete Adventures
Use the Adventure Board at your base camp to take on missions. Each completed task awards Visa Points. Missions often involve exploring tombs, gathering items, or helping locals.
  2. Explore Tombs
Solving puzzles and uncovering hidden areas provides rewards and contributes to Visa Point progress. Many tombs are tied to adventure chains for maximum efficiency.
  3. Make Friends with Locals
Some quests involve building relationships. Talking, helping, and interacting with citizens can lead to quests that reward more Visa Points.
  4. Collect Relics and Treasures
While not directly tied to Visa Points, collecting and selling rare items can support travel-related Lifetime Rewards that help you progress faster.

Tips to Level Up Faster

  • Use the Adventurous trait: Sims with this trait gain Visa Points more quickly and enjoy traveling more.
  • Buy the Prepared Traveler Lifetime Reward: This extends trip duration by three days, giving you more time to earn Visa Points per visit.
  • Focus on high-reward adventures: Prioritize chains that offer multiple parts for the most efficient point gain.

Once you reach Visa Level 3 in a location, you unlock the ability to purchase a vacation home and stay for the full length allowed. For more tips on boosting your Sims’ skills while abroad, check out Sims 3: How to Cheat Skills.
