In The Sims 3, curing vampirism is possible with the Late Night or Supernatural expansion packs. Whether your Sim is tired of the vampire lifestyle or you simply want to return them to a regular human, there are two main ways to reverse vampirism: visiting the Science Facility or using a Potent Cure Elixir.
Method 1: Cure at the Science Facility (Late Night)
If you have the Late Night expansion installed, your Sim can purchase an anti-vampirism serum at the local Science Facility.
Steps:
- Make sure your Sim is currently a vampire.
- Visit the Science Facility in town.
- Choose the option to purchase the Vampirism Cure for §3,000.
- After the purchase, your Sim will consume the cure and become human again.
This is the fastest method and requires no skill-building or ingredients.
Method 2: Use a Potent Cure Elixir (Supernatural)
With the Supernatural expansion, Sims can brew a Potent Cure Elixir using the Alchemy skill.
Steps:
- Raise your Sim’s Alchemy skill to at least level 7.
- Gather the following ingredients:
- Mandrake Root
- Sunflower
- Wolfsbane
- Use an Alchemy Station to create the Potent Cure Elixir.
- Have your Sim drink the elixir or throw it at another vampire to remove their occult state.
This method is ideal if you want more gameplay involvement and have invested in Alchemy.
Other Options and Tips
- Only Young Adult Sims or older can be cured. Children and Teens must wait until they age up.
- If you change your mind later, your Sim can become a vampire again through interactions with other vampires or by using the Bottled Vampire’s Bite elixir (also from the Supernatural expansion).
- Using Cheats: Enable
testingcheatsenabled true
, then Shift + Click on your Sim and select Edit in Create-a-Sim. You can remove the occult state manually through CAS.
Once cured, your Sim will regain a normal relationship with daylight and human needs. If you’re looking to boost their Alchemy skill quickly, check out our Sims 3: How to Cheat Skills guide for tips.
