In The Sims 3, bulldozing a lot allows you to remove existing structures or clear entire lots to make space for new builds. Whether you’re renovating a neighborhood or starting fresh, here’s how to effectively bulldoze lots using the Edit Town feature.
How to Bulldoze a Lot in The Sims 3
Enter Edit Town Mode
- From Live Mode, click the Options button (three dots) in the lower-left corner.
- Select Edit Town to switch to the neighborhood editing view.
Select the Lot to Bulldoze
- Click on the lot you wish to bulldoze.
- A menu will appear with several options.
Bulldoze the Lot
- Click the Bulldoze button (represented by a bulldozer icon).
- If the lot contains a building or objects, you’ll need to confirm the action.
- For lots with occupied households, the game will prompt you to evict the residents. You can choose to:
- Evict: Move the household to the clipboard without their home.
- Evict and Keep House: Move both the household and their home to the clipboard.
- Cancel: Abort the bulldoze action.
Confirm Deletion
- After confirming, the lot will be cleared.
- If the lot still appears on the map, repeat the bulldoze process to remove the lot entirely.
Tips for Successful Bulldozing
- Double Bulldozing: Sometimes, the first bulldoze removes structures, and a second bulldoze is needed to remove the lot itself .
- Evicted Households: Evicted Sims placed on the clipboard must be moved into a new lot before exiting Edit Town; otherwise, they may be lost.
- Custom Worlds: In some custom worlds, terrain issues may prevent placing new lots after bulldozing. Use the World Editor to add lots back .
- Persistent Lots: If a lot doesn’t disappear after bulldozing, try placing a wall or object on it, then bulldoze again .
By following these steps, you can effectively manage and customize your neighborhood in The Sims 3, ensuring a fresh canvas for your creative builds.
