Epic Games posted the key art for Fortnitemares 2026 on September 28, 2026, and it shows more than the Five Nights at Freddy’s animatronics announced a day earlier, in the official Fortnite post on X. Fortnite’s Halloween event begins October 1.
The Details
What Epic has confirmed. Five Nights at Freddy’s is part of Fortnitemares 2026. The announcement trailer says “the Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale”, and that players will “face the animatronic animal bosses and survive the night”. The new key art carries the tagline “The game is cursed” and puts Freddy Fazbear, Chica and Bonnie front and center, with Foxy behind them and Jonesy alongside.
What the art appears to show. Epic has not named anyone else, and its post says only “tricks n treats 4 u”. But the art also appears to include:
- A figure that looks like Freddy Krueger, with the striped sweater, brown hat and bladed glove.
- A tall, faceless figure in a black suit in the style of Slender Man.
- A robed figure in a glowing mask.
- A tombstone that appears to read “Betelgeuse”.
- A winged figure carrying an oversized sword, and a witch on a broom.
These are our reading of the image, not confirmed crossovers. Treat everything beyond FNAF as a tease until Epic names it.
What This Means for Players
FNAF is the certainty: Epic’s trailer describes animatronic bosses in Battle Royale and a night to survive, so this is more than a skin drop.

When and Where
Fortnitemares 2026 begins October 1 on every platform Fortnite is on. Epic has not announced an end date or the full list of crossovers.
