Hotfix 5.01b for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered “is now live on PS5 and PS5 Pro,” CD Projekt Red announced on October 13, 2026, and it “introduces various stability improvements.” Community lead Marcin Momot added that “Patch 5.01 for Nintendo Switch 2 is still in the works and should arrive as soon as possible.”
The Details
CDPR has not published itemized notes for 5.01b, so “various stability improvements” is the only official description. What that means in practice:
- PS5 and PS5 Pro only. The hotfix is a console update for PlayStation; CDPR’s post does not mention PC or Xbox.
- Switch 2 is next. Patch 5.01 for Switch 2 is still in development, with no date beyond “as soon as possible.”
- No itemized fix list. Without notes, players cannot check whether a specific crash or bug they hit is covered, so the best test is to update and play.
The hotfix follows CDPR’s patch series since the Remastered launch on September 29, including Hotfix 5.00c on PC, which adjusted lighting, and the console Patch 5.00b on October 1.
What This Means for Players
If you play on PS5 and have hit crashes, update before your next session; stability fixes like these often target exactly that. Switch 2 players are still waiting for their own patch, so keep your system updated and check back. If you play on PC or Xbox, nothing changes today, and we will add the Switch 2 notes to this story when CDPR publishes them.
If your save is not showing up after an update, our saves not showing guide walks through the fixes, our Switch 2 guide covers that version’s performance and controls, and our Hotfix 5.00c story has the earlier changes. Every guide is on the Witcher 3 hub.
