Death isn’t the end in Halloween: The Game. There are two ways back into the match: the Dr. Loomis reinforcement system built around the CB radio, and a perk card that turns your next death into a police respawn. Here’s exactly how both work.
Route 1: Return as Dr. Loomis (the CB Radio)
The main respawn system runs on a visible timer:
- After a death, watch the “Reinforcements in…” countdown at the top of the screen.
- When it hits zero, it flips to “Reinforcements Available” and “CB Radio Activated.”
- Find the highlighted CB radio on the map.
- The first player who died returns as Dr. Loomis, armed with a revolver and 12 bullets.
Two important side effects: when Loomis enters, map markers reset (relearn your exits), and players who already escaped never respawn: escape is a one-way door, which is worth remembering before you leave teammates behind.
Loomis isn’t just a second life; he’s a walking arrest enabler: his presence satisfies the “badge on scene” requirement, and his 12 bullets are exactly the large-weapon downs the arrest play needs.
Route 2: The Police Reinforcements Perk Card
Civilians build loadouts from perk cards, and one of them, Police Reinforcements, changes your death rule directly: have it equipped when you die, and you respawn as an armed police officer. It’s insurance you buy before the match goes wrong, and on aggressive playstyles (the ones that get grabbed), it’s arguably the best card in the deck.
Playing Your Second Life Well
You return armed, which changes your job:
- Stop item-hunting; start escorting. Your gun exists to down Michael off teammates and to anchor arrest attempts.
- Spend bullets on downs, not damage. Twelve rounds is four to six meaningful interventions if you’re disciplined.
- Pair with the wagon push: reinforcements usually arrive when police pressure is already high, so your return often coincides with the endgame. Herd NPCs and civilians toward the active escape.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who gets the Loomis respawn if several players are dead? The first player to die takes the Loomis slot when the radio activates.
Can Michael stop the reinforcement? He can’t stop the countdown, but he can camp the highlighted radio; clear the approach as a team.
Does the perk card work every death? It’s your equipped death insurance for the match; treat it as one purchased comeback, and check your loadout between matches.
Can Loomis escape and win? Loomis’s job is the rescue; the civilians’ win conditions (escape, survive, arrest) are the match’s outcomes, and he serves all three by keeping people alive.
