The Wolf Among Us Remastered Is Delayed on Switch Only

Mr. Toad recoils on the floor as Bigby Wolf stands in a doorway in The Wolf Among Us Remastered

Telltale has delayed the Nintendo Switch version of The Wolf Among Us Remastered to a later date it has not announced, the studio said in a statement on X on October 16, 2026. The PS5, Xbox and PC versions still launch on October 29, less than two weeks away.

The Details

The statement is short. “Bringing The Wolf Among Us to Nintendo Switch for the very first time is an exciting moment for us! We don’t take this lightly,” the team wrote, adding that it is “taking some additional time to ensure we deliver the experience Nintendo players deserve.”

What Telltale confirmed:

  • PS5, Xbox and PC are unchanged. The remaster “will launch as planned on October 29 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC,” per the statement. The Steam listing still shows October 29.
  • Switch has no new date. “We’ll share an updated release date for the Switch as soon as we can,” Telltale wrote, and its post calls the timing “coming soon.”
  • No specific problem named. The statement gives no reason beyond wanting more time to get the Switch version right.

One thing it leaves open is Switch 2. Some earlier listings named Switch 2 alongside Switch, and the statement does not mention it. Telltale’s own launch date announcement listed only Nintendo Switch, which suggests Switch 2 owners are waiting on the same version, but Telltale has not said so directly.

That same announcement called the Switch release the series’ Nintendo debut, so no one on a Nintendo console is losing access to a game they already had. The delay means a longer wait for a first trip to Fabletown.

What This Means for Players

If you were planning to play on Switch, there is nothing to do but wait for Telltale’s new date. If you can play on PC, PS5 or Xbox instead, nothing changes there: those versions arrive on schedule. Physical editions were always set for the first quarter of 2027, separately from the digital launch.

The remaster is also on the bill for the ID@Xbox Showcase, and the delay does not touch the Xbox version. For everything else arriving this month, see our ranking of the biggest games coming out in October, and our upcoming game releases calendar tracks the rest of the fall and winter.
