Battlefield 6 joined EA Play on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, which puts it in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and EA launched a Game of the Year Edition the same day. EA announced the EA Play addition on Xbox Wire and detailed the new edition in a Steam post.

The Details

Per EA’s Xbox Wire post, members can play through Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming. New players can claim an EA Play Deployment Pack, every member gets a Season 5 EA Play Pack (claimable through January 18), and EA Play takes 10% off the Ultimate Shortcut Kit, Battlefield Pro and other EA digital purchases. The PlayStation Store also lists the game as “Included with EA Play,” and Steam offers full access through EA Play from $5.99 a month.

The Game of the Year Edition is a separate purchase that EA Play does not include. It bundles the game with:

  • The Ultimate Shortcut Kit
  • One Battlefield Pro token, redeemable in any season, for that season’s Battle Pass, 25 tier skips and a 5% XP booster
  • The “Trusted Reserve” Pax Armata Support soldier skin
  • The Phantom Pack: four soldier skins, two weapon packages and XP boosts

On Steam, the edition lists at $99.99 and sits at $59.99 until October 20, with the standard game at $27.99 over the same stretch. Existing owners can buy a Game of the Year Upgrade, priced at $30 on the PlayStation Store.

The Ultimate Shortcut Kit also sells alone, at $29.99 on the PlayStation Store. For each of the four classes it hands over seven weapons and two vehicles at 100% mastery, that class’s Field Training path and its gadgets (four per class, seven for Engineer), plus a dog tag and a title.

What This Means for Players

If you already pay for Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, Battlefield 6 now costs nothing extra, and you arrive on the day Season 5 launched. Our Season 5 patch notes breakdown covers Vegas Strip, Area 51 and the anti-air overhaul, and EA’s Year 2 plans show where the class changes are headed.

The kit is a shortcut past the unlock grind, as the name says, not gear you can’t earn by playing. If you are buying outright this week, the GOTY Edition is the better-value route to it: on Steam it costs $32 more than the standard game, barely above the kit’s standalone price, and that gap also covers a season of Battlefield Pro and the Phantom Pack.

New EA releases usually reach EA Play as time-limited trials, like the EA Sports FC 27 trial; this is the full game, ten days before Modern Warfare 4 and its DMZ mode arrive on October 23. Friends without a subscription can try it in the Steam free weekend, October 15 to 19.
