Klei Entertainment released Cursed Confrontation Part 2, the conclusion of the “From Beyond” story arc in Don’t Starve Together, on October 22, 2026 on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation, the studio announced in a Steam post. The Nintendo Switch version follows “a short while after” it clears Nintendo’s certification.
The Details
Klei lists four highlights for the update:
- The Shadow arc continues after you take the Keystone to the Ancient Gateway.
- New rare early-game creatures, such as the Hound Batilisk and the Rock Master, each with unique loot.
- New lore when you use the Possessed Atrium to reanimate the Odd Skeleton in the caves.
- Faster loading when you travel between the Forest and the Caves.
Klei’s teaser for the chapter warns of horrors that will “drain you of hope” and asks whether players have “the heart to make the sacrifices demanded of you.”
The update also adds cosmetics. The Butterfly Wardrobe skin joins the Chitinous Collection as a streaming drop, and four new sets are on sale: the Wanda Fashionably Late Wardrobe and the Swashbuckler Trio III Chest (skins for Walter, Wanda and Wormwood) at $5.99 each, and the Cursed Chest and Chess Chest at $12.99 each. Klei notes the items can also be woven in game or found as drops.
What This Means for Players
Story players can finally see how From Beyond ends. If your world stopped at the Ancient Gateway, the Keystone is your way in.
New and returning players get a reason to start fresh: Klei calls the rare creatures early-game spawns, so a new world is a natural place to look for them.
Halloween fans have more on the way. Klei says a small Hallowed Nights update with quality-of-life changes is coming next week, and that the creature knockback animations tested in beta are headed for the base game “very soon.” Other games’ spooky seasons are in our Halloween events roundup, and if your group wants more to play together, see our best PC co-op games of 2026 and best cozy spooky games.
