Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave sold an estimated 127,131 copies in Japan in its launch week, topping the software chart Famitsu published on September 28, 2026 for September 14 to 20. The Switch 2 exclusive launched on Thursday, September 17, so that total covers four days on sale.
Where Marvel’s Wolverine Landed
Marvel’s Wolverine entered at number five on PS5 with 20,039 copies. It launched on Tuesday, September 15, so it had six days in the tracking week to Fire Emblem’s four. This is Famitsu’s estimate for the Japanese market only, measured differently from the worldwide estimates we covered after launch, so the two figures are not comparable.
The Rest of the Top 10
Famitsu counted six new entries in its top 10, from four games:
- Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter placed second on Switch 2 (24,724) and fourth on PS5 (21,753), for 46,477 combined.
- Rhythm Heaven Groove, last week’s number one, fell to third on 22,568, taking its lifetime total to 1,022,613.
- Another Eden Begins took sixth on Switch 2 (14,708) and seventh on Switch (9,237).
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Splatoon Raiders and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream filled out eighth to tenth.
On hardware, Switch 2 sold 34,341 units for the week, bringing its Famitsu lifetime total to 6,316,079. Famitsu says positions 11 and below go up on its site from September 29.
What the Number Actually Counts
Several reports called the 127,131 figure physical copies. Famitsu’s own note is more specific: its estimates combine packaged software, download cards and copies preinstalled on bundled consoles, and they are estimates based on the information available when the chart was compiled. Regular eShop downloads are not on that list, so treat 127,131 as a retail estimate rather than Fortune’s Weave’s full Japanese sales total.
