Grand Theft Auto VI isn’t announced for PC. Rockstar lists it only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, launching November 19, 2026, and Take-Two’s latest earnings release lists the same two platforms.
There’s no Steam page, no PC system requirements and no PC date. Here is what we do know.
What Is Actually Announced
- Rockstar’s GTA VI page: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
- Take-Two’s release schedule: its August earnings release lists GTA VI for “PS5, Xbox Series X|S”.
- Steam: searching the Steam store returns no GTA VI page.
- Microsoft Store: the game is sold for Xbox Series X|S only, with no Windows version.
Any PC system requirements you see are made up; neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has published any.
The Controller That Confuses Everyone
Sony’s official GTA VI DualSense controllers are listed “for PS5, PC, Mac and Mobile”. That line describes where the controller works, not the game. It isn’t a sign of a PC version.
What Rockstar’s History Suggests
Rockstar has launched its recent big games on consoles first and brought them to PC later:
- GTA 5 launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013, and reached PC on April 14, 2015, about 19 months later.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018, and reached PC on November 5, 2019, just over a year later.
That pattern doesn’t guarantee anything for GTA 6, but it’s why most PC players expect to wait. Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick said at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in September that PC is “becoming more and more important” to the company, according to reports of the webcast, but he didn’t announce a GTA 6 PC version.
Your Options if You Only Have a PC
- Wait. Nothing is announced, so any PC date you see is a guess.
- Stream from a console you own. Sony’s PS Remote Play app and the Xbox app on Windows both let you stream your own console to a PC. That requires owning a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S and a copy of the game.
- Don’t count on cloud streaming. GTA 6 isn’t included in Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, so there’s no subscription cloud version. Our Game Pass and PS Plus guide has the details.
- Play Rockstar’s PC catalog. GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are both on PC, and our GTA 5 mods and Red Dead Redemption 2 mods lists are the best way to get more out of them while you wait.
