Nintendo Switch Online Adds Metal Slug Advance, Monster Rancher Advance and Kururin Paradise

Nintendo added Monster Rancher Advance, Metal Slug Advance and Kururin Paradise to its Game Boy Advance Nintendo Classics app on the evening of October 13, 2026, and all three require a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. Nintendo of America announced them in a trailer on its YouTube channel at 9:01 PM Eastern, saying the three games are “now available to play” for Expansion Pack members.

The Details

The three additions:

  • Monster Rancher Advance: Tecmo’s monster-raising game.
  • Metal Slug Advance: SNK’s handheld entry in its run-and-gun series.
  • Kururin Paradise: the 2002 puzzle sequel to Kuru Kuru Kururin, made by Eighting and published by Nintendo. It was only ever released in Japan on the GBA, and Nintendo’s trailer shows its Japanese box art.

The earlier Kururin game is already in the app, so the series now has both of its GBA entries on the service. With these three, Nintendo’s US Nintendo Classics page lists 32 Game Boy Advance games.

The tier matters. Game Boy Advance games are part of the Expansion Pack, not the base membership. Nintendo’s US page lists an individual base membership at $19.99 a year and an individual Expansion Pack membership at $49.99 a year.

What This Means for Players

If you already pay for the Expansion Pack, the three games come at no extra cost in the Game Boy Advance Nintendo Classics app. If you are on the base tier, they are not included.

Kururin Paradise is the one to notice. Nintendo never released it outside Japan on the GBA, so this is an official way to play it without importing a Japanese cartridge. The trailer does not say whether this version is translated. Metal Slug Advance is the pick for action fans, and Monster Rancher Advance suits anyone who likes raising and training creatures.
