Master Quest has not been announced for the Ocarina of Time remake. Nintendo has not confirmed it, has not ruled it out, and has not mentioned it at all. That is an open question rather than a confirmed omission, which is a distinction a lot of coverage is blurring.
Why People Expect It
Master Quest has a real history with this specific game. It shipped on the GameCube bonus disc in the early 2000s, and it was built into Ocarina of Time 3D in 2011 as a mirrored, substantially harder second quest.
So of the three previous ways to play Ocarina of Time, two of them included it. Expecting it here is reasonable. It is simply not confirmed.

- Zelda Notes companion features through the Nintendo Switch App, including a quiz and location-based activities

- Expanded dialogue and fully voiced cutscenes
- Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo masks, arriving in 2027
The pattern there is breadth rather than replay difficulty. Nintendo is adding things to do in Hyrule, not harder versions of Hyrule.
What to Expect
Given that the game is a faithful interpretation in Aonuma’s own framing, and that Master Quest already exists in a form Grezzo built for the 3DS, including it would not be a heavy lift if Nintendo wanted to. Its absence from all pre-launch material may simply mean it is being held back as a post-launch reveal or an unlock.
