To try for a baby in Paralives, your couple needs the Lovers relationship label; then agree to have children through the relationship conversation cards, select both Paras as a group, and click a bed to find the Try for Baby interaction. Adoption at the hospital is the alternative route. Here is the full path in the current early access build.
Step 1: Reach the Lovers Label
Paralives handles relationships through labels rather than bars alone. Build romance between your two Paras with flirty interactions until the relationship earns the Lovers label; without it, baby-making conversations stay locked.
Step 2: Have the Baby Conversation
Two conversational routes open the door:
- Through the flirty together cards, pick “ask if they want to try for a baby now” for the direct approach.
- Or open the “discuss state of relationship” card stack and choose “ask if they want to have children together in the future” to establish the plan first.
Step 3: The Bed
With agreement reached, select both Paras as a group, then click a bed and choose the Try for Baby interaction. If it takes, pregnancy follows, and the household prepares for a new Para.
A pregnancy test should confirm the result. Who in a couple can become pregnant is configurable per character in the Paramaker’s advanced settings.
The Adoption Alternative
Not every family starts biologically: visit the hospital to adopt. It is the equal-access route for any household configuration.
Babies in the Current Build
Babies have been in since early access launched, and the 0.1.7 update (August 2026) even redesigned baby models to be, in the developers’ own words, cuter. The dev team ships free patches steadily, so baby care keeps improving; the studio has pledged all updates stay free.
