DreamWorks Shrek 2 Remastered releases on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, and the PlayStation Store, Xbox store, Steam and Epic Games Store listings all carry the same release moment: 5:00 PM UTC, which is 12:00 PM ET (9:00 AM PT) in the US. Aspyr Media, the developer and publisher, has announced the date but has not posted an unlock hour of its own, and the Nintendo eShop lists the date only.
Below we cover the time in every major region, what each store shows, download sizes, the pre-order prices, and what to check if the game is not ready when you sit down to play.
The Release Date Aspyr Has Confirmed
Aspyr revealed the remaster on October 20, 2026, during the ID@Xbox Showcase, with a November 10 date on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Our release date story covered that announcement, and every official listing still shows the same date as of November 3, 2026:
- The PlayStation Store shows “11/10/2026 05:00 PM UTC” under the title on its US page.
- The Xbox store shows November 10, 2026, and Microsoft’s store data sets the release at 5:00 PM UTC.
- Steam shows “Nov 10, 2026” on the page, and the release timestamp in Steam’s store data is 5:00 PM UTC.
- The Epic Games Store catalog lists the release and the PC release at 5:00 PM UTC.
- The Nintendo eShop, for both Switch 2 and Switch, shows November 10, 2026, with no time.
Four stores matching to the minute is a strong sign of one worldwide release moment. It is still store data rather than an Aspyr statement, so we will update this page if Aspyr posts a different time.
Release Time in Every Region
The PlayStation and Xbox listings give the same 5:00 PM UTC in the US, UK, German and Australian stores, so the game unlocks at the same moment everywhere rather than at local midnight. US clocks fell back on November 1 and most of Europe changed on October 25, so these are standard-time figures:
| Region | Local release time |
|---|---|
| US Pacific (PT) | 9:00 AM, November 10 |
| US Mountain (MT) | 10:00 AM, November 10 |
| US Central (CT) | 11:00 AM, November 10 |
| US Eastern (ET) | 12:00 PM, November 10 |
| Brazil (Brasilia) | 2:00 PM, November 10 |
| UK (GMT) | 5:00 PM, November 10 |
| Central Europe (CET) | 6:00 PM, November 10 |
| India (IST) | 10:30 PM, November 10 |
| Japan (JST) | 2:00 AM, November 11 |
| Australia (Sydney, AEDT) | 4:00 AM, November 11 |
| New Zealand (NZDT) | 6:00 AM, November 11 |
Players in Japan, Australia and New Zealand get it in the early hours of November 11 local time, even though it is the same moment as everyone else. In the US, that means a lunchtime launch on a Tuesday, so most families planning a couch co-op night will have it downloaded well before dinner.
What Each Platform Shows
| Platform | Store | Date | Time on the listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| PS5 | PlayStation Store | November 10, 2026 | 5:00 PM UTC |
| Xbox Series X and Series S | Xbox store | November 10, 2026 | 5:00 PM UTC |
| PC | Steam | November 10, 2026 | 5:00 PM UTC in store data |
| PC | Epic Games Store | November 10, 2026 | 5:00 PM UTC in catalog data |
| Switch 2 | Nintendo eShop | November 10, 2026 | No time listed |
| Switch | Nintendo eShop | November 10, 2026 | No time listed |
The eShop is the open question. Many Nintendo eShop games in the Americas have gone live at midnight Eastern on their release day, but a publisher can also pick a set hour, the way Aspyr did on the other stores. Aspyr has not said which applies to the Switch 2 and Switch versions, so check the eShop once on the morning of November 10 and again at noon ET before assuming anything is wrong.
Download Sizes and Pre-Loading
As of November 3, 2026, Aspyr has not announced a pre-load window on any platform, and no store listing shows a pre-download date. These are the sizes the listings give, so you can clear space ahead of time:
- Xbox Series X|S: about 13.85 GB, per Microsoft’s store data.
- PC (Steam): 15 GB of free space, for both the minimum and recommended specs.
- Switch 2: about 6.5 GB, per the eShop listing.
- Switch: about 5 GB, per the eShop listing.
- PS5: the PlayStation Store page does not list a size yet.
If a pre-load does open, a digital pre-order downloads from the usual place: Game Library on PS5, My games and apps on Xbox, your Steam or Epic library on PC, and the HOME Menu icon on Switch.
Price and Pre-Order Discounts
The standard price is $29.99 on every platform, and every store sells a single standard edition with no deluxe version or pre-order bonus listed. Aspyr’s announcement put digital pre-orders at 10% off, $26.99, on all platforms, with PlayStation Plus required for the discount on PS5. The windows differ by store as of November 3:
- Steam: $26.99, and the page says the pre-purchase promotion ends November 17, a week after launch.
- PlayStation Store: $26.99 for PlayStation Plus members and $29.99 otherwise, with the offer listed as ending at the 5:00 PM UTC launch.
- Xbox store: $26.99, and Xbox Wire’s showcase post says Game Pass members get up to 20% off the pre-order through November 9.
- Nintendo eShop: $26.99 on both Switch 2 and Switch, with the eShop discount running through November 16.
Aspyr has also said physical pre-orders open on November 10 and has not given the boxed copy a ship date, so plan on a digital copy if you want to play on launch day.
If It Is Not Unlocked Yet
The game is not on Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, so you need a purchased copy before it will start. If noon ET passes and the game still shows as a pre-order:
- Fully close and reopen the store or launcher. Steam, Epic and the console stores cache the pre-order state, and a restart usually flips it to Play.
- Check your library rather than the store page. On PS5, open Game Library; on Xbox, open My games and apps; on PC, open your Steam or Epic library.
- On Switch 2 or Switch, check the HOME Menu icon for a download in progress before buying again in the eShop.
- Sort out online access before your friends arrive. The PlayStation Store says PS Plus is required for online play, the Xbox listing carries Microsoft’s note that the game “requires online multiplayer subscription to play on console” (Game Pass Essential or higher), and the eShop lists online play as a Nintendo Switch Online feature. Couch co-op on one screen needs none of them, and Steam needs no subscription at all.
Up to four players can team up, on one couch, online, or both at once, per Aspyr. If you are planning a game night around it, our best Switch 2 co-op games list has more to play alongside it, and the original’s era is covered in our best PS2 games ranking.
