To become a fairy in The Sims 4, you either create one directly in Create a Sim or transform an existing Sim in-game: get a Fairy Seedling, plant it to summon Mother Nature, drink her charm, then visit Moondrop Springs and choose Become a Fairy. Fairies arrived with The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature (July 2025), the expansion set in the world of Innisgreen. The base game alone cannot create or transform fairies; any existing non-occult Sim can become one once the pack is installed.
Method 1: Create a Fairy in CAS
Open Create a Sim, click the occult picker above the Traits section, and choose Fairy. You can customize wings and fairy-specific looks from the start. This is instant, but skips the story of transforming.
Method 2: Transform an Existing Sim
- Get a Fairy Seedling. You can find one while foraging around Innisgreen, earn one by completing Fables, order one from the computer, or simply ask a fairy Sim for one.
- Plant the seedling. Planting it summons Mother Nature herself.
- Ask for Mother Nature’s Charm. Drink the potion she provides; your Sim gets the Into the Fold moodlet, which lasts 24 in-game hours.
- Travel to Moondrop Springs near the Mossveil fairy hub in the Everdew area of Innisgreen while the moodlet is active.
- Click the spring water and choose Become a Fairy. The transformation completes there.
Miss the 24-hour window and you will need another charm, so plan the trip before you drink.
How to Stop Being a Fairy
Reversal mirrors the path in: obtain another Fairy Seedling, plant it, and ask Mother Nature to remove your fairy essence, then travel to Moondrop Springs and relinquish the essence into the water. Your Sim returns to being an ordinary human.
Tips Most Players Miss
- Befriend a fairy first. Asking a fairy for a seedling is the fastest acquisition route if you already know one.

- Check patch health. EA shipped several fairy bug fixes through 2026 (wing visibility, portrait glitches), so keep the game updated if wings misbehave.
