Yes. Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is on Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and also on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with every version launching digitally on October 23, 2026. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version: the PlayStation Store lists the game for PS5 only, and the Xbox Store listing marks it as playable on Xbox Series X|S only.
Trailmark Games, the publisher, lists the platforms on its official page as “PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, & PC,” and links Steam and the Epic Games Store for PC. Below is what each version offers, what owners of older consoles can do, and which one we would pick, verified against Trailmark’s site and the Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo store listings as of October 22, 2026.
Every Platform at a Glance
| Platform | Available? | Where to buy | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch | Yes | Nintendo eShop, retail | TV, tabletop and handheld modes |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Yes | Nintendo eShop | Its own version, same price as Switch |
| PS5 | Yes | PlayStation Store, retail | DualSense effects, Remote Play |
| Xbox Series X and S | Yes | Xbox Store | Xbox Play Anywhere, 4K, HDR, 60fps |
| PC (Windows) | Yes | Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox app | Steam Deck rated Playable |
| PS4 | No | None | PlayStation Store lists PS5 only |
| Xbox One | No | None | Xbox Store lists Series X and S only |
| Mac and Linux | No native version | None | Steam lists Windows only |
| Mobile | Not announced | None | Not among Trailmark’s platforms |
The Standard Edition is $29.99 on Steam, the PlayStation Store and both Nintendo eShop listings, and the Feral Edition is $39.99 on consoles. What the Feral Edition adds is in our Feral Edition vs Standard guide.
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
The game is on both Nintendo consoles, as two separate eShop products:
- Nintendo Switch: the eShop lists TV mode, tabletop mode and handheld mode, and Save Data Cloud for Nintendo Switch Online members.
- Nintendo Switch 2: a separate listing for the Switch 2 itself, not a Switch game with an upgrade. It lists the same three play modes, Save Data Cloud, and HDR output on compatible TVs.
Both cost $29.99 for the Standard Edition and $39.99 for the Feral Edition. The eShop does not list a paid upgrade from the Switch version to the Switch 2 version, and Trailmark has not announced one. It has also not said whether a save moves from one version to the other.
Our advice, and it is our call rather than Trailmark’s: if you own a Switch 2, buy the Switch 2 version. A Switch 2 can generally run Switch games through Nintendo’s backward compatibility, but with the native version at the same price, there is nothing to gain from buying the older one for a newer console.
For a boxed copy, Trailmark’s retail links point to the Feral Edition for Switch, at Best Buy and Target in the US and at Smyths Toys in the UK. No Switch 2 physical edition is among those links.
PS5, and Why There Is No PS4 Version
The PlayStation Store lists the game for PS5 only. Its listing names one player, optional online play, Remote Play support, and DualSense vibration and trigger effects. Trailmark’s retail links include a physical PS5 copy of the Feral Edition at GameStop.
PS4 owners have no version to buy, and Trailmark has not announced one. The PS5 version unlocks at midnight Eastern in the US, which our release time guide converts for every time zone.
Xbox Series X and S, and Why There Is No Xbox One Version
The Xbox Store’s listing data marks the game as compatible with Xbox Series X and S only, and labels it Optimized for Xbox Series X|S, with 4K, HDR and 60fps support. There is no Xbox One version.
Two Xbox details worth knowing:
- Xbox Play Anywhere. The Xbox Store listing is a Play Anywhere product, so one digital purchase covers both Xbox Series X and S and Windows PC through the Xbox app. The listing also names achievements and cloud saves.
- The physical edition is late. Trailmark says that “due to a production issue outside of our control,” the Xbox Series X physical edition now releases on November 3. The digital Xbox version still launches on October 23.
PC: Steam, Epic and the Xbox App
PC players have three official stores:
- Steam. The Steam store page lists Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) only, so there is no native Mac or Linux version. It lists full controller support, achievements, Steam Cloud, trading cards and Family Sharing.
- Epic Games Store. Trailmark links an Epic store page alongside Steam.
- The Xbox app. Through Xbox Play Anywhere, as above.
The PC system requirements on Steam are modest:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Windows 10/11 64-bit |
| Processor | Quad-core Intel or AMD, 2.8 GHz | Hexa-core Intel or AMD, 3.2 GHz |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GTX 1060 or RX 580 | RTX 3070 (8 GB) or RX 6800 XT |
| Storage | 4 GB | 4 GB |
Steam Deck: Valve rates the game Playable, not Verified. Its compatibility notes say the default controls work fully and the on-screen controller glyphs match the Deck, but that the default graphics configuration does not run well, so expect to lower settings before it plays smoothly.
Crossplay and Cross-Save
Trailmark has not said whether the online features work across platforms, or whether progress carries between stores. The online side is asynchronous anyway: Skirmish battles against other players’ cats, camp visits and gifting, with no co-op. Our guide to whether Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest has multiplayer covers exactly what those features do.
Which Platform We Would Pick
These recommendations are ours, based on the official listings above:
- You own a Switch 2: the Switch 2 version, for the same price as the Switch one.
- You want to play first in North America: PS5 or Xbox, which unlock at midnight Eastern, 12 hours before Steam.
- You play on PC and own an Xbox: the Xbox Store version, since Play Anywhere gives you both.
- You play on Steam Deck: Steam, with the caveat that you will need to turn settings down.
- You want a boxed copy on day one: the Feral Edition on PS5 or Switch, since the Xbox disc is not out until November 3.
Every guide we publish for the game is collected on our Warrior Cats hub.
