Worship 1.0 Is Out Now on Steam

Hooded cultists with knives tumble through black tentacles covered in purple eyes in Worship

Worship, Chasing Rats Games’ “Pikmin-inspired roguelike” about building a world-ending cult, reached version 1.0 on Steam on November 4, 2026, the studio announced on Steam. Everyone starts with a fresh save file, because the studio says 1.0 changed the game so heavily that it had to change the save system. It costs $19.99, and the Steam store page has it at $14.99 with 25% off at launch.

What 1.0 Adds

  • Eldritch Prophecies. A new account progression system of more than 90 challenges. Completing them now permanently unlocks gods, upgrades, new content, skins for cultists, followers and blood, cult base trophies, and lore and bestiary entries.
  • A final area and a final test. The Cabal Marshlands, and the Final Test of Faith, Mortals’ Last Stand.
  • Three new god aspects, each with its own kit: An-Ansgaidh, Shepherd of Martyrs; Hubryus, Nightmares Shaper; and Kessessa, Mother of the Coven.
  • Fast travel. Finishing major encounters opens a portal to your cult base, and a town portal ritual unlocks as a prophecy reward.
  • More to find. 10 new random encounters, a new major encounter (The Tainted Farm), 20 new upgrades including 6 rituals, new enemies, and more than 40 lore and bestiary entries.
  • Five new utility buildings: Cursed Garden, Lighthouse of the Faithless, Fighting Pit, Eleanor Soul Vessel, and the Follower Transmuter. Existing buildings now give passive buffs too: the Summoning Mirror adds 20% max HP to your summons, and the Blood Factory adds 30% max Blood to your cultist.

Launch Fixes and a Steam Cloud Warning

The studio’s first hotfix landed the same day, fixing loading that got stuck when saving and quitting with Hubryus, Nightmares Shaper, and missing translations in the first tutorial prompts. It promised another hotfix on Friday for more bugs.

That evening, Chasing Rats turned off Steam Cloud sync after finding that progress could be deleted when switching to another device, it said in a Steam Cloud notice. It said it had found the likely cause and planned a fix for the morning of November 5, and until then it suggests playing on one device only. When we checked at 10:38 AM EST on November 5, it had not yet posted that sync is back.

What This Means for Players

If you played Worship before 1.0, your old save does not carry over, but the prophecies make every run count toward permanent unlocks from here on. Until the studio says Steam Cloud is back, keep to one device (a Steam Deck counts as a second one) so a sync cannot wipe your progress.
