To check if World of Warcraft: Forever is down, look at Blizzard’s customer support account on X, @BlizzardCS (or @BlizzardCSEU_EN in Europe), and at Blizzard’s official WoW Forever forums, where staff post outages, maintenance and known issues. Blizzard’s server status page now has a WoW: Forever view too, with a status for each ruleset instead of realms, after showing no Forever entry when we checked before launch on November 4.
Updated November 5, 2026: WoW Forever is live, Blizzard’s server status page now covers it, and Blizzard posted two launch-night fixes on its forums, so we added both below.
Below we cover the launch time, every official place to check, how a login queue differs from a real outage, and what to try when the game is up for everyone but you.
First, Check the Clock
WoW Forever opened at one global moment, per Blizzard’s launch announcement and its launch-day forum post:
| Region | Launch time |
|---|---|
| US Pacific | 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4 |
| US Eastern | 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4 |
| Brazil | 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4 |
| UK | 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4 |
| Central Europe | 12:00 a.m. Thursday, November 5 |
| Taiwan | 7:00 a.m. Thursday, November 5 |
| Korea | 8:00 a.m. Thursday, November 5 |
| Eastern Australia | 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 5 |
Our launch time guide converts it for every other time zone. It has been open in every region since then, so if you cannot get in now, work through the checks below.
The Official Places to Check
Check these in order. The first two are where Blizzard itself speaks.
- @BlizzardCS on X. Blizzard’s customer support account for the Americas posts outages, emergency maintenance and “we are aware of the issue” notices for its games. Europe has @BlizzardCSEU_EN. When an outage is known, this is usually the first place Blizzard says so.
- Blizzard’s official forums. The WoW Forever forum and the WoW support forum are where Blizzard staff post known issues as blue posts. During the beta, Blizzard put WoW Forever’s updates and known issues in forum threads, such as its development notes, rather than in the main hotfix posts. A burst of new “can’t log in” threads in the general forum is also a fast sign that the problem is not just you. On launch night, the forums are where Blizzard posted its fix for Invite-A-Friend players stuck at level 10 and unable to group or trade, and the temporary portals it placed near docks and zeppelin towers while boats and zeppelins were getting lost between continents.
- Blizzard’s server status page. Choose World of Warcraft: Forever in the Game Version menu, then your region. The Forever view lists the four rulesets (Normal, PvP, Roleplay and Roleplay PvP) with a status for each.
- The Battle.net app. Make sure the app itself is signed in and online, then select World of Warcraft and choose WoW: Forever in the Game Version menu. If the app cannot reach Battle.net at all, the problem is wider than WoW Forever.
- Blizzard’s news page. Big launch-day changes, such as extended downtime or a schedule change, go on the World of Warcraft news page.
What the Server Status Page Shows
Blizzard’s server status page lists realms for World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft Classic, Burning Crusade Classic and Mists of Pandaria Classic. When we checked it on the afternoon of November 4, before launch, its game list had no WoW Forever option. By November 5 it did: choosing World of Warcraft: Forever in the Game Version menu opens a Forever view.
That view looks different because WoW Forever drops realms entirely. You pick a ruleset (Normal, PvP, Roleplay or Roleplay-PvP), and Blizzard says each ruleset “functions as a broad player ecosystem rather than a single traditional realm.” So instead of a long realm list, the page shows one line per ruleset in your region, marked up or down, with no population figures. The Americas and Oceania share one view, and Europe has its own Europe view. It is a quick first check; @BlizzardCS and the forums are where Blizzard explains what is wrong. Our ruleset guide explains how rulesets replace realms.
Queue or Outage: How to Tell
A login queue means the servers are up and full. An outage means they are not answering.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A queue window with your place in line and an estimated wait | Servers are up and at capacity | Stay in line; leaving puts you at the back |
| The queue number goes down slowly | Normal launch-night traffic | Keep the game open and wait |
| Disconnected, or unable to connect, for everyone at once | A real outage or emergency maintenance | Check @BlizzardCS and the forums |
| Kicked back to character select or the login screen repeatedly | Server instability | Wait a few minutes before retrying |
| Only you cannot connect while friends are playing | A problem on your side | Work through the fixes below |
Expect queues in launch week. The beta’s population cap had to be raised twice, as our beta population cap story covers, and launch opened the game to every subscriber at once. A long queue is not an outage, and closing the game to “try again” costs you your place.
If It Is Just You
When @BlizzardCS and the forums are quiet and your friends are in, the fault is usually on your end:
- Check your subscription. WoW Forever is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time, so an expired sub locks you out. Our guide to whether WoW Forever is free covers what you need.
- Pick the right game version. In the Battle.net app, WoW: Forever is chosen from the Game Version menu, separate from modern WoW and Classic.
- Check your region. Blizzard’s shop lists four regions: Americas and Oceania, Europe, Korea and Taiwan. Your characters and reserved names live in one region.
- Restart the app and your router. It clears most connection errors.
- Check your graphics card. If the game will not start at all, that is your PC, not the servers. Blizzard set a minimum GPU for WoW Forever, as our GPU requirements story explains.
- Turn off add-ons. If the game crashes after you log in, disable add-ons first. Our add-on install guide shows where they live.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is WoW Forever down right now? Check @BlizzardCS on X and Blizzard’s WoW Forever forums first, then the WoW: Forever view of Blizzard’s server status page, which shows a status for each ruleset.
Is WoW Forever live yet? Yes. It launched at 3:00 p.m. PST on November 4, 2026, which was 6:00 p.m. Eastern.
Why can’t I log in to WoW Forever? It is usually a queue, an outage Blizzard will announce on @BlizzardCS, or something on your side such as an expired subscription or the wrong game version selected.
Is a login queue the same as the servers being down? No. A queue means the servers are up and full. Stay in line, because leaving puts you at the back.
Does WoW Forever have a realm status page? Yes, now. Blizzard’s server status page has a WoW: Forever view that lists each ruleset’s status instead of realms. It had no Forever entry when we checked before launch.
