You sell from the garage in Moon Sweepers by connecting it to a station with a conveyor belt. Unload your vehicle at the garage, let its silo pack the dust into capsules, and run a belt from the garage’s outfeed to one of the intake windows on the outside of a station: everything that arrives there is paid automatically.
The garage never pays you on its own. It stores dust and sends it out, and the money only lands when the capsules reach a station. Below we cover how the garage fits into the money loop, the setup step by step, what the new silo messages from patch 1.0.5 mean, and how to squeeze more money out of the same dust. Everything official here is verified against the Moon Sweepers Steam page and DragDrop Games’ patch notes up to version 1.0.5; tips from players on the game’s Steam forum are labeled as theirs.
What the Garage Actually Does
The garage is the hub for your cleaning vehicles. The developer’s 1.0.3 patch notes confirm that any garage can call your vehicles back, store them and upgrade them, so you can own several garages and use whichever is closest.
It also has a silo. Players on the Steam forum describe the loop like this: you unload a vehicle’s dust into the garage, the silo packs it into capsules by itself, and the capsules leave through the garage’s outfeed onto whatever belt you connect. DragDrop Games’ 1.0.5 patch confirms the outfeed part: a garage whose silo is not sending its dust out now tells you why, with messages such as “Connect a conveyor belt to its outfeed”.
So the garage is the middle of the chain, never the end:
| Step | What happens | Where the money comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle | Sweeps dust into its tank | Nothing yet |
| Garage silo | Takes the dust and packs capsules | Nothing yet |
| Conveyor belt | Carries capsules from the outfeed | Nothing yet |
| Station intake | Receives the capsules | Paid as they arrive |
Patch 1.0.3 also changed how intakes pay: dust and stone arriving by belt are paid as they come in, and the deposit intake pays exactly what its screen shows.
Step by Step: Sell From the Garage
- Buy the garage near a station. Short belts are cheap and simple, so your first garage belongs close to your base. One player on the forum suggests saving roughly $700 after a few broom upgrades to afford the garage and the push vacuum. Since patch 1.0.5 you can build on dusty ground (the dust under a piece is pressed flat), and garages fit on square foundations, so you do not need to clean the spot first.
- Unload your vehicle at the garage. Drive up and unload. Players report the silo then packs the dust into capsules automatically, with no Packager or Auto-Packer needed.
- Run a conveyor belt from the outfeed to a station intake. The intakes are the windows with orange rings around the outside of a station. Players report that a belt ending at one of them sells whatever it carries, and the Let the Belt Do It achievement pops the first time you move dust on a belt.
- Check the belt direction. A belt pointing the wrong way, toward the outfeed, is the most common fault players report. Since patch 1.0.5 the garage’s status message tells you when its dust is not leaving.
- Watch the counter. Capsules are paid the moment they reach the intake, so your money should tick up while you are out sweeping again.
If you place the garage badly, moving it no longer costs anything. Patch 1.0.5 added Move Mode (press R with the building tool to pick up a piece and everything standing on it, then place it again for free), and removing a piece now refunds its whole price instead of 75%.
When the Garage Stops Selling
- “Connect a conveyor belt to its outfeed”. The silo has nowhere to send its capsules. Add a belt, or check that it actually snaps to the outfeed.
- Capsules sit on the belt. The belt may end short of the intake, or every intake on that side of the station may already be busy. Players count a limited number of intakes per station (about a dozen each), so merge belts or use another face of the station.
- Nothing packs at all. Patch 1.0.4 fixed machines pausing with “Could not pack a capsule”, and patch 1.0.5 fixed capsules not packing in big bases with many capsules on belts. Update the game before you rebuild anything.
- Your crewmate’s vehicle will not unload for you. Players report that vehicles belong to whoever bought them, so each player unloads their own.
Make More Money From the Same Dust
Raw dust is the cheapest thing you can sell. Put processing machines between the garage and the station and the same load earns far more:
- Pressure chamber: players describe it turning dust into sand, which several players report selling for about three times the price of dust.
- Stone press: combines dust and sand into stone bricks, the most valuable product players have found so far.
Players who have balanced these lines report that one pressure chamber can keep about two stone presses busy, with splitters dividing the sand between them, and that a garage outfeed carries roughly 100 kg of dust a minute. Both machines need power, so add solar panels as you build. Treat these ratios as player math rather than official numbers: DragDrop Games lists new production machines and better automation for its Update 1.1, planned for December 2026, which could change the best layout.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the garage sell dust by itself in Moon Sweepers? No. The garage stores dust in its silo and sends capsules out of its outfeed. You get paid only when those capsules reach a station intake, usually by conveyor belt.
Do I need a garage to sell dust? No. You can carry capsules into a station and deposit them by hand, or drop capsules onto a belt that runs into an intake. The garage just makes selling vehicle loads hands-free.
Why is my garage not sending its dust out? Since patch 1.0.5, the garage tells you why. The usual cause is a missing or misconnected belt on its outfeed, or a belt running the wrong way.
Can I use more than one garage? Yes. Since patch 1.0.3, every garage can call back, store and upgrade your vehicles, so you can build one near each area you are cleaning.
Do garage sales count toward the deposit achievements? Players report they do not. The deposit achievements, such as Regular Customer, only count deposits you make by hand at the depot.
