To get to Undercity from Orgrimmar in World of Warcraft: Forever, take the zeppelin to Tirisfal Glades from the towers just outside Orgrimmar’s main gate. It lands at the Tirisfal tower between Brill and the Ruins of Lordaeron; from there, ride south into the ruined city and take an elevator down into Undercity.
There is no road between the two cities, because Orgrimmar is on Kalimdor and Undercity is in the Eastern Kingdoms, so the zeppelin is the trip. Below we cover the route step by step, the walk from the tower into the city, what to do if the zeppelin does not arrive (a real problem in launch week), the shortcuts for later trips and the way back. Routes are checked against Blizzard’s own posts as of November 7, three days after launch.
How the Zeppelin Works
WoW Forever is built on the original level 1 to 60 world, and the Horde’s transport network there is a set of goblin zeppelins. From the towers outside Orgrimmar, one zeppelin flies to Tirisfal Glades (for Undercity) and another to Grom’gol Base Camp in Stranglethorn Vale. There is no zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Thunder Bluff, which our guide to getting to Thunder Bluff explains.
The ride is free. You do not need to learn anything or talk to anyone first: walk onto the deck when the zeppelin docks and stay on until it lands. Crossing between continents brings up a loading screen partway through the flight.
Orgrimmar to Undercity, Step by Step
- Leave Orgrimmar by the main gate into Durotar.
- Walk to the zeppelin towers just outside the gate. They are tall goblin towers beside the road.
- Climb to the top by the ramps that wind around the tower.
- Pick the right platform. One zeppelin goes to Tirisfal Glades and the other to Grom’gol. The goblin zeppelin master on each platform tells you where that ship goes, so speak to one if you are not sure.
- Wait for the zeppelin to dock and step aboard. Stay on the deck until it reaches Tirisfal Glades.
- Walk down the Tirisfal tower when it lands.
If you get turned around in Orgrimmar, ask a city guard. Blizzard’s new player’s starter guide says guards give directions and mark the spot on your map.
From the Tirisfal Tower Into Undercity
The Tirisfal tower stands between the village of Brill and the Ruins of Lordaeron, so the last stretch is short:
- Head south from the tower toward the ruined city walls.
- Walk through the front gate of the Ruins of Lordaeron and across the courtyard.
- Go through the ruined throne room to the elevators at the back.
- Ride an elevator down. Undercity is the city underneath the ruins.
On the way through the courtyard you pass the entrance to the Ruins of Lordaeron, one of the new dungeons in WoW Forever. Blizzard’s dungeon overview places it “within the ruined city above the Undercity” for levels 15 to 20, so do not wander into the instance portal unless you mean to.
Once you are in the city, talk to Undercity’s flight master to learn the flight path. A guard will point the way.
If the Zeppelin Does Not Come
Transports had a rough launch. On November 5, Blizzard game developer Aggrend wrote on the official forums that “boats and zeppelins” were “becoming lost in the maelstrom for extended periods of time.” As a stopgap, Blizzard “spawned portals near most transport docks or inside of the zeppelin towers,” with a proper fix to follow, and said it would remove the portals once that fix was verified.
So if the zeppelin is missing:
- Look for a portal inside the tower. If Blizzard’s temporary portal is still there, it takes you across. Do not plan around it, because it is meant to go away.
- Wait one more cycle. A late zeppelin is not always a lost one.
- Take the long way. Board the Grom’gol zeppelin instead, then take the zeppelin from Grom’gol Base Camp to Tirisfal Glades. Stranglethorn Vale is a much higher level zone than Durotar, so stay inside the camp between flights.

Faster Trips After the First

Hearthstone. Blizzard’s starter guide says innkeepers “can bind your Hearthstone to their inn so you can return there later.” If your character is basing out of Undercity, bind it at the inn there and take the zeppelin out instead of back.
Flights. The zeppelin lands you in Tirisfal, but flights on to the rest of the Eastern Kingdoms start at Undercity’s flight master. The Frequent Flier Legacy perk makes flights cheaper and faster; our Legacy Points guide shows how to earn the points.
Mage portals. In the original game, Horde Mages could teleport themselves to Undercity and open portals there for a group. Blizzard has not published WoW Forever’s Mage spell levels, so ask your trainer when they unlock.
Going Back: Undercity to Orgrimmar
Reverse the route. Ride an elevator up out of Undercity, cross the courtyard and leave by the front gate, then head north to the Tirisfal tower. One platform serves Orgrimmar and the other Grom’gol, so check with the zeppelin master before you board. The Orgrimmar zeppelin lands at the towers outside Orgrimmar’s main gate.
