Atlus released a Naoto Shirogane character trailer for Persona 4 Revival on September 17, 2026 during Tokyo Game Show, alongside confirmation that the remake arrives February 18, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version follows separately on May 20, 2027, a three-month gap worth knowing about before you pre-order on the wrong platform.
The Details
The trailer introduces Naoto, the detective brought into Inaba’s serial kidnapping case, known as the Detective Prince despite still being a high school student. Amber Lee Connors voices the role in English. Naoto completes the run of character reveals Atlus has been rolling out, following Kanji and Teddie.
Revival is a full remake rather than a port. Events are fully voiced, including Social Links, which were largely text in the 2008 original. Composer Ryota Kozuka has written new music alongside remixes of the existing soundtrack. Combat inherits Baton Pass from Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload, and adds a new power-up mode called Prime Time.
The Baton Pass addition is the change most likely to alter how the game actually plays. Persona 4’s original combat rewarded knocking enemies down and following up with an all-out attack, and Baton Pass turns that same opening into a chain of buffed turns between party members, which is a meaningfully faster and more aggressive rhythm than the original had.
What This Means for Players
The staggered release is the practical takeaway. If you own more than one of these systems and want Revival in February, it has to be PS5, Xbox, or PC. Our best PS5 games of 2026 and best Xbox games of 2026 both cover which platform tends to get the better version of multiplatform releases, which has swung by several review points more than once this year.
Switch 2 owners waiting until May have a deep bench in the meantime. Our best Switch 2 games of 2026 covers the year’s lineup, and 2026 has been unusually strong for RPGs on the hardware.
