Enshrouded 1.0 is out now on Steam and PS5. It unlocked on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 8:00 AM Pacific, 11:00 AM Eastern and 4:00 PM in the UK (15:00 UTC), the time on Keen Games’ official launch map. Keen published that map in its October 8 Sparkworks press release, which said the game would unlock on both platforms “at the same moment worldwide,” and its “Enshrouded 1.0 is LIVE!” post went up on Steam at 11:06 AM Eastern on launch day.
Updated October 16, 2026: Enshrouded 1.0 is out on Steam and PS5. The PlayStation Store’s product listing for the PS5 version now gives 15:00 UTC, the same moment as Keen’s map. Keen has shipped two hotfixes since launch, 1.0.0.1 on October 15 and 1.0.0.2 on October 16, and Early Access saves are converted to a new format the first time you load them. Steam has a 10% introductory discount until October 29, and the PlayStation Store gives PS Plus members the same 10% off until then.
Below is the unlock time for every region Keen listed, what happened with the one PlayStation Store listing that showed a later hour, what happens to your Early Access copy when you update, and what Keen released on launch day. Xbox players are not part of this launch; we cover why further down.

The date itself had been official since June 25, when Keen’s release date announcement confirmed that Enshrouded “releases out of Early Access on Steam on October 15th.” The Steam store page now lists the game as released on October 15, 2026.
Steam and PS5 Unlocked Together
Keen’s map covered both platforms in one line, so on paper PS5 players and PC players started at the same minute. Before launch there was one wrinkle: when we checked the PlayStation Store listing on October 12, it showed “Releases on: 10/15/2026 05:00 PM UTC,” which is 1:00 PM Eastern, two hours after Keen’s time.
Since launch, the store’s data for the PS5 game itself lists a 15:00 UTC release, the same moment as Keen’s map, although one part of the listing still carries the old 5:00 PM UTC stamp. Keen never posted a separate PS5 time, so 11:00 AM Eastern is the official unlock for both platforms.
The PS5 version is now on sale: $39.99 for the Standard Edition and $49.99 for a Deluxe Edition that adds three exclusive Class Outfit Packs, a digital artbook, a printable high-resolution map of Embervale and the soundtrack. There was no pre-load on either platform, so plan on a full download. On PC, Steam’s system requirements call for 60 GB of free space and recommend an SSD.
Xbox Is Not Part of the October 15 Launch
The Xbox Series X|S version did not launch on October 15. Keen’s June 25 press release says the Xbox edition “remains in development and is planned for spring 2027,” and CEO Jan Jöckel said the team decided that reaching the quality and performance it expects on Xbox “would require additional time.”
What Happens to Your Early Access Copy
1.0 is not a separate product on Steam. It ships on the same store page as the Early Access game, so if you already own Enshrouded you get 1.0 as an update to the copy you have. Keen’s launch FAQ, which we covered in our Enshrouded 1.0 launch FAQ story, puts it plainly: “You do not need to buy Enshrouded PC again if you own the Early Access version.”
A few things are worth knowing before you jump in:
- The price went up before launch. Keen raised the price by 10 euros, to €39.99, on September 8, and announced it in its price update post. It is $39.99 on Steam in the US, currently $35.99 with the introductory discount, and the same $39.99 on the PlayStation Store. Steam also sells a $9.99 Deluxe Upgrade Pack with the outfits, artbook and map.
- Your skill tree resets. Keen’s 1.0 changelog repeats the warning from its combat post: the first time you load an existing save in 1.0, the skill tree is reset, so spend your points again before leaving your base.
- Your saves are converted, with a backup first. Keen’s changelog says 1.0 backs up any save made with version 0.8 or earlier and then migrates it to a new, smaller save format. Our guide to whether Early Access saves carry over covers the details, including a rare migration crash Keen fixed on October 16.
- Server hosts, check the changelog. 1.0 changes how hosted sessions handle permissions: hosts now set a default permission level for every joining player with a single password and can promote or demote characters individually, while dedicated servers keep their password-based user groups.
What Keen Released for Launch
Keen published the full 1.0 changelog and a release trailer on October 14, a day before launch, and followed with its highlights video on launch day. The headline addition is Cinder’s Cradle, a new region in the north of Embervale with a higher level cap. Our guide to what changes in Enshrouded 1.0 has the highlights from the changelog and both hotfixes.
The first hotfix, 1.0.0.1, arrived a few hours after launch with crash fixes and a fix for indoor lighting that was too bright. The second, 1.0.0.2, followed on October 16 to fix a world settings bug the first hotfix introduced, a rare crash during save migration, and a grey fog rendering problem on Nvidia graphics cards.
