The Feral Edition of Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is the full game plus the Prophecy Pack, a set of cosmetic extras, for $39.99, against $29.99 for the Standard Edition. The Prophecy Pack adds cat-creator accessories, wearables, a cel-shaded character skin and photo mode extras, and nothing that changes the story, combat or modes, so the Standard Edition is the better buy unless you love dressing up your cat.
The game is a turn-based adventure RPG set in the Lake Territories of Erin Hunter’s Warrior Cats books, developed by Bamtang Games and published by Trailmark Games. It launches October 23, 2026 on Switch 2, Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Xbox app), and our release time guide has the unlock times by store and time zone. Prices and contents below are verified against Trailmark’s site and the Steam, Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings as of October 13, 2026, with the physical editions and PC stores rechecked on October 22.
Updated October 22, 2026: Trailmark now names an Xbox Series X physical edition, delayed to November 3, and links the Epic Games Store directly, so we updated the physical copy and PC sections.

What the Feral Edition Adds: the Prophecy Pack
The only difference between the editions is the Prophecy Pack. Per the store listings, it includes:
- 8 accessories for the cat creator
- 12 wearable accessories
- A cel-shaded character skin
- 4 cat poses for photo mode
- 4 photo mode effects
That is all cosmetic. The core game is identical in both editions: Prophecy Mode’s four original Clan stories, the Defender Mode survival challenge, asynchronous Skirmish battles, a cat creator with what Trailmark calls millions of combinations, 75 combat moves and six locations from the books, including ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan and WindClan territory, the Moonpool and the Island.
The Math: Feral Edition or Buy the Pack Later
The Steam store and the Nintendo eShop both list the Prophecy Pack on its own for $14.99. Bought separately, the game and the pack come to $44.98, so the Feral Edition saves you about $5 if you know you want the pack. On Steam, the Feral Edition is a bundle priced at $39.58, slightly under the $39.99 it costs on consoles.
If you are unsure, buy the Standard Edition. Since the pack is sold separately, you lose only that roughly $5 saving by adding it later, and you get to see how much time you spend in the cat creator and photo mode first.
The Pre-Order Bonus: Purrfect Look Pack
Pre-ordering either edition digitally gets you the Purrfect Look Pack, four cat-creator elements that Nintendo’s listing says are “only available by preordering.” The Nintendo eShop listing sets the deadline: purchases made by 12:00 a.m. Pacific on October 23, 2026, which is 3:00 a.m. Eastern. Steam, PlayStation and Xbox list the same bonus for pre-purchases.
Trailmark’s own site ties the Purrfect Look Pack to digital pre-orders, so do not assume a physical pre-order includes it. Check the retailer’s listing if you are buying a boxed copy.
Physical Copies
Trailmark’s site links to physical pre-orders of the Feral Edition: PS5 at GameStop, where it is listed at $39.99, and Switch at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, plus a Walmart search. Every US retail link that names an edition points to the Feral Edition, and there is no physical PC copy. There is an Xbox Series X physical edition, but a notice on Trailmark’s site says a production issue outside its control moved it to November 3; the digital version still launches October 23 on every platform, as do the PS5 and Switch physical editions. GameStop lists the Xbox disc as the Feral Edition at $39.99 with a November 3 release date. In the UK, Trailmark links a Switch copy at Smyths Toys.
Platform Notes
- Xbox: the Standard Edition is an Xbox Play Anywhere title on the Xbox Store, and the listing shows 4K, HDR and 60fps support on Xbox Series X|S.
- PS5: the PlayStation Store lists one player, optional online play and Remote Play support.
- Switch and Switch 2: separate listings, both with Save Data Cloud support for Nintendo Switch Online members.
- PC: Steam lists full controller support, achievements and Steam Cloud. Trailmark’s site also links the game’s Epic Games Store page, and because the Xbox Store version is Xbox Play Anywhere, buying it there also covers Windows PC through the Xbox app. Our platforms guide compares every version.
The ESRB rating is Everyone 10+. Every store lists the game as single-player, with asynchronous online features: Skirmish battles against other players’ cats, visits to friends’ camps, and crafting or gifting materials for friends.
Which Edition You Should Buy
- You mainly want the story and the battles: the $29.99 Standard Edition.
- You will spend hours in the cat creator and photo mode: the $39.99 Feral Edition, which saves about $5 over buying the Prophecy Pack later.
- You want a boxed copy: the physical Feral Edition at a US retailer, on PS5 or Switch, or on Xbox Series X from November 3.
- Either way: pre-order digitally before 3:00 a.m. Eastern on October 23 if you want the Purrfect Look Pack.
