The Steam free trial for Battlefield 6 now runs until Tuesday, October 20 at 1 PM EDT (10 AM PDT), EA’s Battlefield team announced in a Steam post on October 16, 2026. The team says the trial “did not work for all players on its first day,” and it is stretching the 2x XP weekend to Tuesday as well.
The Details
EA’s trial terms had the Steam window opening Thursday, October 15 at 1 PM ET and closing Monday, October 19 at 1 PM ET. The new end time is Tuesday at 5 PM UTC, which the post also gives as 1 PM EDT, 10 AM PDT and 6 PM CEST. The team says it has “since resolved the underlying issue.”
The double XP extension is the bigger bonus for anyone already playing. EA pitches it as a way to level your Career Rank and weapons and to “unlock the Battle Pass Tiers even quicker.”
The post also explains a fix for players who see no Multiplayer tiles in their trial. EA calls out two groups: anyone who played REDSEC before, and anyone affected on day one. The steps:
- Close and restart Steam.
- Open the Battlefield 6 store page and click “Play Game.”
- That starts the Multiplayer download. To check it, right-click Battlefield 6 in your library and open DLC, where you can also pick which files Steam downloads.
The post covers Steam only, and it repeats EA’s caveat that the “trial period may vary based on platform.” It says nothing about the PlayStation 5 trial, whose window in EA’s terms closes Monday, October 19 at 4 PM ET.
