Bodycam: How to Get Operator Skins (Why the Shop Is Gone)

Bodycam key art

If every operator skin in Bodycam shows “N/A” instead of a price, you’re not bugged: the real-money shop is disabled since the v0.8 “Locked & Loaded” update, deliberately. The developers turned it off, previously purchased skins are safe, and the store returns “at a later stage.” Here’s the full situation.

The Official Status

From Reissad Studio’s v0.8 announcement, verbatim policy: “The shop for real-money purchases is disabled in this update and will return at a later stage. Every skin you have already purchased remains yours and will be restored when you first connect after the update.”

So:

  • Already bought skins? Yours, restored on first login post-update.
  • Want to buy now? You can’t; the N/A price tags are the disabled storefront, not a bug.
  • When’s it back? No date given.

Before the shutdown, skins ran around the $4.99 mark, and there’s no indication pricing changes when it returns.

What You CAN Earn Right Now

The cosmetics pause doesn’t stop progression:

  • Weapons and ~400 attachments unlock through Reissad Points (our RP guide covers the rates)
  • Wingman rank climbs through the 2v2 ladder
  • The new HUB lobby’s armory and attachment rooms give your unlocks somewhere to be admired

There is no operator roster with gameplay unlock conditions; operators are cosmetic identities, which is why the skin shop is the whole “operator unlock” story.

Why a Studio Turns Off Its Own Revenue

Reading between the official lines: a two-person team just shipped its biggest update ever (record 38,958 concurrent players), rebuilt the menu into an explorable HUB, and had four patches to push in nine days. A monetization system is a support surface, and they cut it rather than run it badly mid-launch. Their suggested alternative while it’s down, in their own words: “the best way to support the game is by gifting the game to your friends,” which, given the no-party-system situation, is also how your friends get into your lobby anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions

My purchased skin isn’t showing after the update. The restoration triggers on connecting; if it truly hasn’t appeared across sessions, that’s a support-ticket case rather than policy.

Will there be earnable (non-paid) skins? Nothing announced; today’s earnable track is weapons, attachments, and rank.

Is there a battle pass? No, and none announced. RP progression is the whole economy right now.

Do skins affect visibility or gameplay? Bodycam’s whole aesthetic is uniform photorealism; cosmetics stay within it, and no pay-for-camouflage nonsense has been part of the shop.
