Remedy addressed it directly rather than quietly shifting the date. Art director Elmeri Raitanen cited disc-pressing lead time, testing and logistics, explaining that the studio wanted the final master locked before pressing, covering pacing, voice-over, music, mastering and colour grading.
The important context: the game has gone gold. This is a manufacturing timeline, not a development problem, so there is no reason to read the delay as trouble.

The Mac Version
A Mac version is coming later in 2026 on Steam and the Mac App Store. Remedy has not given a date, and no Mac system requirements have been published, so there is nothing yet to plan around.

About That Early Access Claim
You will see it stated that Digital Deluxe preorders play 48 hours early from September 22, and that this is PlayStation-only.
We could not verify it. The Xbox Digital Deluxe listing shows no advanced access days, and the Steam page does not advertise early access either. Either it is genuinely a PlayStation arrangement or the claim is aggregator noise, so do not buy the more expensive edition on Xbox or PC expecting to start early.
