Cyberpunk 2077’s free Edgerunners 2 Update (version 2.5) went live on October 22, 2026 on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, CD PROJEKT RED announced in a Steam post and on cyberpunk.net. Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version get it “in the days to follow,” according to the studio’s full patch notes.
The Details
The announcement named two features. The patch notes add the rest:
- Edgerunners content: a new side quest, Clampdown, set before the events of the anime’s second season. It unlocks after The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, and it rewards a 5-piece gear set based on the character King. A new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, plays tracks from the series.
- Dual wielding: the new Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree, with four supporting perks, lets V dual-wield Power pistols and revolvers.
- Cyberware skins: Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System can be restyled at five Glamdocs, marked with a spray paint icon on the map.
- More to do: a second side quest, Welcome to Paradise, narrated by Richard Night (after The Heist and Street Cred 15), plus 12 Minor Arcana tarot cards tied to an extension of Fool on the Hill.
- Cross-platform mods: in-game mod browsing and installing, powered by mod.io, on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2.
- Quality of life: saves grouped by playthrough, item filters for apartment and vehicle stashes, and an icon on modded saves.
- Tech: DLSS 4.5 support, FSR 3 upscaling removed (FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation stay), ray tracing and PS5 Pro optimizations, and better HDR.
Neither post gives a download size.
What This Means for Players
Console players can now add mods for the first time, but only the selection CD PROJEKT RED approves on mod.io. The notes warn that trophies and achievements cannot be earned on console from a modded save.
