Transfers in EA FC 27 Manager Career no longer resolve in one conversation: every deal now moves through stages over time, starting with an enquiry, then parallel talks with the selling club and the player, and it can still be reopened by rival interest after you agree terms. You also get new tools to shape deals, including installments, loan-backs, player exchanges, buyback and sell-on clauses, and a rebuilt 2D negotiation screen with a tension meter.
EA calls it “one of the biggest Transfer Market upgrades in franchise history.” Below we walk through a signing step by step, every new option and clause, the new Transfer Hub layout, how selling works, and what changed about the AI clubs you are bidding against. Everything is verified against EA’s official Career Deep Dive for EA SPORTS FC 27.
How to Sign a Player, Step by Step
- Find the target. In the new Scouting half of the Transfer Hub, search the database or review scout reports. Attributes are now revealed instantly; scouts instead add four report stages: Tactical Fit, Future, Financial Assessment and Status.
- Enquire. From the player’s profile, open the new Player Actions list and enquire about a permanent transfer, a loan, or a future signing. You can also publicly declare interest to see how open the player is.
- Wait for a response. After a short wait the club or player replies. A “no” ends the pursuit; a “yes” grants permission to negotiate.
- Negotiate in parallel. Talks with the selling club and with the player run at the same time. If you would rather not, delegate the deal to your Director of Football.
- Watch for twists. Even after an agreement, interest from rival clubs can bring fresh demands from the club or player, sending you back to the table. EA says the system is built for transfer battles, hijacks and last-minute renegotiations.
- Complete and reveal. Finished deals trigger a new reveal showcase scaled to the signing: a simple contract signing and media appearance for smaller moves, up to a stadium presentation for the biggest names, with fan and pundit reactions.
A new Interest indicator shows how willing a player is to join before you commit, and the Active Negotiations screen tracks every incoming deal, outgoing deal and renewal in one place.
Every New Deal Option and Clause
EA groups the new tools into four areas:
Deal timing and movement – Choose when a deal takes effect: immediately, the next window, or the start of next season. – Loan-back: sign a player now and leave him at his current club for a period. – Player exchanges return, letting you include squad players to cut the cash needed.
Financial structure – Installments: spread a fee over several seasons, choosing how much is deferred and over how many payments. The future payments still count against later budgets. – Achievement bonuses: extra payments tied to club achievements, individual awards or performance.
Future transfer rights – Buyback clauses, first refusal (match a future offer) and sell-on clauses (a percentage of the next fee).
Player contracts – Beyond wages, length, sign-on and agent fees, you agree a squad role, which sets playing-time expectations and can have consequences if you do not meet them. – Performance bonuses for appearances, goals, assists or clean sheets, automatic wage rises (promotion, European qualification) or cuts, and release clauses.
The Negotiation Screen and Tension Meter
The old 3D negotiation room is gone. Deals now happen on a 2D screen that shows every fee, installment, bonus and future obligation, with a tension meter that tells you how close both sides are to agreement and how close talks are to collapsing. You can walk away at any point instead of being locked into a failing negotiation. Knowing when to push and when to settle is the new skill.
Selling Players
Selling uses the same stages. Offers arrive over time; you can accept, reject, negotiate or delegate. Once the buying club and player agree, you get one final chance to reopen the deal and push for better terms, and whether that works depends on how many other clubs are interested. A player with a busy market is worth a late squeeze.
Keep the new clauses in mind when selling youngsters: a sell-on percentage or buyback clause keeps a stake in a prospect who may explode, and FC 27’s Dynamic Potential system makes those breakouts more likely for players who get minutes.
How AI Clubs Behave Now
- Club philosophy: youth-focused clubs spend more of their budget on prospects; others buy proven players. Clubs also weigh how important financial responsibility is to them and do not always spend everything.
- Parallel shortlists: AI clubs chase several targets at once, so a rival can move on to your second choice.
- Stats-driven scouting: goals, assists, average ratings and clean sheets attract interest from around the world.
- Rivalries: historic rivals and local derby opponents are far less willing to deal with each other, while clubs in the same multi-club ownership group deal more readily.
- Player interest: players weigh club stature, league appeal, wages, contract length, continental football and even a move home.
- Valuations: EA partnered with TransferRoom, whose Expected Transfer Value (xTV) model now informs player values that shift over multiple seasons.
Two more changes affect every window: Deadline Day now spans twenty in-game hours with a new two-hour skip alongside the one-hour advance, and free agents left unsigned for long enough eventually retire.
The New Transfer Hub Layout
The Transfer Hub is split in two. Scouting holds scout reports, your network and player search. Transfers holds Active Negotiations, a Lists area (Shortlist, Transfer List, Loan List, Blocked Offers), a Contracts and Clauses overview of expiring deals, bonuses and installments, and a season-long Transfer History for every club. For prospects worth scouting first, start with our best young players guide, and note EA’s latest Career Mode developer update on known issues. Every other guide is on our EA FC 27 hub.
