Fallout Shelter is getting a Baby Deathclaw companion later this year, and three new Fallout 4 Creations from Verified Creators are on the way, Bethesda Softworks announced on October 20, 2026 in its Fallout Day Celebrations 2026: Day 2 video. Bethesda also shared the news in a Steam post for Fallout 4 the same morning.
The Details
Fallout Shelter. Players who log in to Fallout Shelter on October 20 and every day this week can claim free giveaways, and the in-game shop has discounts running. Bethesda says animal companions are the theme across several Fallout games this year, and Shelter’s contribution is the Baby Deathclaw, arriving “later this year.” The video calls it “adorable and probably won’t tear your face off,” and says it may help one of your dwellers. Bethesda did not give an exact date.
Fallout 4 Creations. The second half of the video previews community-made add-ons for Fallout 4:
- An escape-room style dungeon from Kinggath Creations. You fight, solve puzzles and race an adversary through a remote facility while under a hallucination-inducing FEV strain, talking to a “mind’s eye” version of your spouse. Courtenay Taylor and Brian T. Delaney, the original voices of the Sole Survivor, return for it.
- Command Override, from Hobgoblin Studios. You see through a robot’s eyes and pilot it remotely, hack robots, explore a new RobCo headquarters in Boston and take on a Gunner threat led by General Hayes.
- Fathomless, a cosmic horror expansion set beneath the Atlantic Ocean, where the Sole Survivor follows a pre-war expedition into a deep-sea crater. This one is not due until 2027.
Bethesda gave no release dates for the first two Creations.
What This Means for Players
The weeklong celebration started on October 19 with a new X account for Fallout 76 players, and Day 2 turned to the single-player side. Shelter players should log in daily this week, because the giveaways are tied to each day.
