Rockstar has confirmed a long list of side activities for GTA 6: gyms, pool, mini golf and basketball in town, kayaking, scuba diving, jet skiing and airboating on the water, and fishing, hunting and off-road trails in the countryside. Several double as dates, since Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson says playing pool, mini golf or kayaking together has “a positive impact” on Jason and Lucia’s relationship.
Below is every activity confirmed so far, where each one was shown, and what’s known about how they work. Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026, so this list comes from Rockstar’s site, its Extended Look, Game Informer’s cover story, and interviews with Rockstar staff. We’ll add to it as more is revealed.

The Extended Look entries come from press breakdowns of Rockstar’s footage, notably GamesRadar’s. Rockstar’s own Only in Leonida page describes Mount Kalaga National Park as offering “prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails,” and its image captions show Jason fishing, Cal Hampton playing mini golf, scuba divers, jet skis, an airboat and kayaking.
Activities in the Countryside
Paul MacPherson, Rockstar’s senior vice president of environment art, told Game Informer what the team built between the northern towns: ATV trails, “a drunken mud park party,” destruction derby races “on floodlight-bleached oval tracks at night,” mountain bike trails, a luxury private golf course, coastal sand dunes for dirt bikes, and bass fishing in a cypress-lined lake. Whether each of those is a structured activity or simply a place to play hasn’t been spelled out. Our guide to how big the GTA 6 map is covers how much ground that countryside covers.
Which Activities Count as Dates
This is the biggest change from past GTA games. Nelson told IGN that “playing pool or mini golf or kayaking; normal slice of life things,” as well as “robbing stores together, robbing banks together,” all have “a positive impact” on Jason and Lucia’s bond. His list of date ideas also included going to a zoo, “studying animals,” scuba diving, parachuting and walking on the beach.
Preview reports say there are no preset date missions: you invite your partner along to whatever activity you like, and even a gym session can turn into a date. Our guide to how Jason and Lucia’s romance works explains what else builds the relationship.
Gyms
Gyms appear in both Game Informer’s list and the Extended Look. Creators who attended the previews say gyms need a membership and give modest boosts to health, stamina and Focus. That echoes the stat training of older games; our guide to increasing strength in GTA 5 shows how the last game handled it.
Fishing and Hunting
Fishing is in, but reportedly not the way Red Dead players might expect. GameSpot, relaying Nelson’s comments to a preview creator, reports that fishing is catch-and-release (“It didn’t fit this game”) and ties into challenges, collectibles and the story. Hunting, per the same report, is a way to make money and comes through one of Jason’s contacts.
Game Informer adds that Leonida has more than 170 animal species, and that some animals to track are categorized as Rare, Discoverable and Legendary. Rockstar hasn’t said whether those are hunting targets, so don’t expect Red Dead’s legendary hunts until it does. Our news story on GTA 6’s wildlife has the full animal details, and our guide to perfect pelts in Red Dead Redemption 2 shows the system GTA 6 is being compared to.
Robberies: The Activity That Pays
Robberies aren’t just story missions. Nelson called them “a huge amount of what you can and need to be doing” between story missions, and Game Informer says “certain missions only become available based on your current income.” In other words, you’ll need to earn money in the open world to push the story forward. Our guide to the Heat system covers how robberies affect the police response.
