- Build up your Sim’s Riding and Pet Training skills to improve interactions.
Step 2: Find a Unicorn in The Sims 3
Unicorns appear in the wild only during specific times:
- Between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM
- Typically in one of the following community lots:
- Fishing spots
- Waterfalls
- Equestrian Centers
Look for a glowing, sparkly horse with a horn, that’s your unicorn! If you see a rainbow aura around a horse, you’ve found the right one.

- At least three animals they’re close to
The option “Ask to Join Household” will appear when clicking on the unicorn. If successful, the unicorn will officially become part of your household!
