The best Palworld mods start with two frameworks, UE4SS and PalSchema, and build out from there into map overhauls, bigger bases, smarter storage and Pal info readouts. The 25 below are the most popular and best maintained mods for Palworld on PC, grouped by what they change, from Nexus Mods and the official Steam Workshop that Pocketpair added to the game in its v0.7 update.
We checked every mod against its creator’s own page on September 21, 2026. “Current version” here means Palworld 1.0, which left early access on July 10, 2026 and is on patch v1.0.5 as of this writing. Pocketpair warned before launch that 1.0 made significant changes to the game’s systems and that old mod files left in the game folder can crash the game or corrupt saves, so delete any pre-1.0 mods before you start. Most mods here need UE4SS, many also need PalSchema, and Palworld patches arrive often, so check each creator’s page for an update after every patch before loading your world.
Frameworks and Essentials

1. UE4SS Experimental (Palworld)
UE4SS is the script loader that most Palworld mods run on: it loads Lua, C++ and Blueprint mods and gives modders the tools to hook into the game. This is the Palworld-specific build, re-hosted on the Workshop with a small config file the game needs to avoid crashes. Its page warns never to run the Workshop and Nexus copies together, because loading two copies of UE4SS crashes the game. Creator: the RE-UE4SS team (Workshop upload by Okaetsu). Download: UE4SS Experimental (Palworld) on the Steam Workshop.

2. PalSchema
PalSchema lets mods change Palworld’s data tables and blueprints through small JSON files instead of replacing whole game files, so two mods can edit the same asset without one silently cancelling the other. Its author says this also makes mods less likely to break when the game updates. Several mods further down this list, including Expanded Storage and Smaller Plantations, depend on it. Creator: Okaetsu. Needs: UE4SS. Download: PalSchema on the Steam Workshop.

3. Stutter Fix Pack
Stutter Fix Pack targets specific hitches rather than promising a general frame rate boost. Per its page, it reduces stutter when you vacuum up piles of dropped resources, loot field chests, aim while sprinting, fire weapons with Pals in your party, or kill several enemies at once, by skipping redundant party passive checks. Its creator is upfront that it will not fix every source of stutter. Creator: SolTeLu. Needs: UE4SS. Download: Stutter Fix Pack on the Steam Workshop.
Map and Exploration

4. MapUnlocker
MapUnlocker is the most endorsed Palworld mod on Nexus, with more than 9,000 endorsements. It removes the fog of war from the whole world map so you can plan routes, but fast travel points stay locked until you find them yourself. Its page confirms it works on Palworld 1.0 and explains that the clouds over Sunreach Island are a separate story effect, not fog of war, so they stay. Creator: W1ns. Download: MapUnlocker on Nexus Mods.

5. Map Collectables Overhauled
This is a native C++ rewrite of the long-running Map Collectables mod, rebuilt for 1.0. It puts Lifmunk Effigies, lore notes, ancient ruins, dungeons, chests, eggs, fruit trees and all nine ore types on your world map and compass, with an in-game settings panel, presets and collected-out-of-total counters. With close to 500,000 subscriptions, it is one of the most popular mods on the Workshop. Creator: Krosstak. Needs: UE4SS. Download: Map Collectables Overhauled on the Steam Workshop.

6. Remote Fast Travel
Remote Fast Travel lets you fast travel from the world map wherever you are, instead of walking to a statue first, but only to destinations you have already unlocked. It is a lightweight Lua mod with no save file changes, and its page says it was built and tested for Palworld 1.0 and runs client-side in multiplayer. Creator: 醒醒. Needs: UE4SS. Download: Remote Fast Travel on the Steam Workshop.

7. HD Map Texture
A simple, popular visual fix: its author found the vanilla world map displays a lower-detail version of its texture, and this mod swaps in a sharper version so terrain and landmarks read clearly when you zoom in. Version 7, released for 1.0, scales back its upscaled icons because the 1.0 map already ships with higher resolution icons. Separate files cover the Steam and Game Pass versions. Creator: notrustk. Download: HD Map Texture on Nexus Mods.
Pals, Catching and Fishing

8. Pal Info Simple HUD
Aim at a Pal and this mod shows an info card with its HP, Attack, Defense, work speed, IVs, gender, elements, active and passive skills, work suitability, item drops and capture progress. It detects your game language automatically, and a settings menu lets you switch to showing the card only while holding Left Alt. It is client-side, so nothing goes on the server. Creator: ge.rnd. Download: Pal Info Simple HUD on the Steam Workshop.

9. Visible Pal Capture Counter
If you are chasing capture bonuses or completing the Paldeck, this small mod shows how many of a Pal you have already caught right next to its name, so you know at a glance whether it is worth another sphere. It has more than 2,700 endorsements and was updated on July 12, 2026, two days after 1.0. Separate instructions cover Steam and Game Pass. Creator: jsthope. Needs: UE4SS. Download: Visible Pal Capture Counter on Nexus Mods.

10. FSS: Full Sphere Summon
Full Sphere Summon brings back throwing your Pal Sphere to summon a Pal, with collision, hit effects and knockback, and a thrown Pal pulls aggro from the wild Pal it hits even in Defensive mode. You aim by holding the summon button and can swap active Pals with the mouse wheel. It works in hosted worlds and on dedicated servers as a client-only install, per its page. Creator: MatthewOfJadeSpear. Needs: UE4SS. Download: FSS: Full Sphere Summon on the Steam Workshop.

11. Always Win Fishing
This mod fixes the two complaints players have about fishing: the minigame and the wait for spots to refill. The green bar covers the whole judgment area, so catches land reliably, and pressing F9 toggles much faster fishing spot respawns. Its page stresses that fish, Alpha and material rewards are unchanged, so you catch faster but the loot tables stay the same. Creator: 润就完事了. Needs: UE4SS. Download: Always Win Fishing on the Steam Workshop.
Base Building and Storage

12. Less Restrictive Building (for 1.0)
The go-to building mod since early access, now updated for 1.0. It allows floating foundations, building on steep terrain, overlapping objects, and building over water with wood instead of the Aquatic Construction Kit. It also removes the height cap and object limits. The UE4SS version adds building near your Palbox and placing bases in normally restricted areas. Creator: Caites. Download: Less Restrictive Building on Nexus Mods.

13. Base Radius Improved
Instead of one flat bigger radius, Base Radius Improved grows your base area as the base levels up: 5 percent per level by default, from 35 meters at level 1 to about 94 meters at the level 35 cap that 1.0 introduced. The blue boundary dome resizes to match, and a config file lets you set the exact radius for every level. Creator: nossr50. Needs: UE4SS. Download: Base Radius Improved on the Steam Workshop.

14. Expanded Storage (8x Vanilla)
Expanded Storage multiplies the slots in supported chests and Inventory Expansion Bags by eight, so large production bases stop drowning in half-full boxes. Its creator also publishes 2x and 4x versions if eight is too generous. One catch from its page: existing chests do not upgrade, so dismantle and replace them after you enable the mod. Creator: Chistix. Needs: UE4SS, PalSchema. Download: Expanded Storage (8x Vanilla) on the Steam Workshop.

15. Integrate All Camp Storage
This mod links every base your guild owns into one shared material pool, so building or crafting at any camp can pull from chests at every other camp. That ends the chore of shuttling ingots and wood between bases. It is a 1.0 rewrite built on UE4SS that works in single-player and on dedicated servers, and its page says it writes nothing to your save. Creator: Sarfflow. Needs: UE4SS. Download: Integrate All Camp Storage on Nexus Mods.

16. Infinite Weight In Camp
Stand inside your base camp and weight limits disappear. Step outside and normal carry rules apply again, so this cuts out inventory juggling at home without trivializing exploration. Version 3.0.3, updated in July 2026, fixed a long-running bug where the mod quietly stopped working mid-session, and it now works however you arrive at camp, including by fast travel or mount. Creator: qais. Needs: UE4SS. Download: Infinite Weight In Camp on Nexus Mods.

17. Smaller Plantations
Smaller Plantations shrinks every crop plantation to the footprint of the Berry plantation, which is roughly one foundation. Farms take far less space and snap neatly onto a foundation grid. It has more than 180,000 Workshop subscribers and was last updated in July 2026, after 1.0. Its creator notes that multiplayer and dedicated servers are not officially supported. Creator: Syzzle. Needs: UE4SS, PalSchema. Download: Smaller Plantations on the Steam Workshop.
Gameplay Tweaks

18. MH All Game Setting and Faster Hatch Press
Two mods on one page. Faster Hatch Press removes the long button hold when you collect eggs from an incubator. MH Game Setting adds an F3 menu with about 60 adjustable settings and features, and any value set to false is left alone, so it will not fight other mods. Its page lists the latest build as confirmed for patch 1.0.3 on Steam and Game Pass. Creator: MoxxyHaven. Download: MH All Game Setting and Faster Hatch Press on Nexus Mods.

19. True Monster Rancher
True Monster Rancher expands what Pals produce at the Ranch: Vixy can dig up higher-tier spheres, Melpaca drops leather, Sparkit drops Electric Organs, Kikit produces crude oil, and dozens more. Condensing a Pal raises its rates. Updated September 5, 2026, it comes in PalSchema and pak versions, and its page explains how to clear out older files first. Creator: Sin of Pride. Needs: PalSchema (for that version). Download: True Monster Rancher on Nexus Mods.

20. Currencies, Keys and More Are Key Items
Gold, keys and Pal Souls clog your normal inventory. This mod moves them into the Key Items tab, freeing up slots. Its creator is upfront about the trade-offs: key items cannot be dropped, and Pals cannot transport them, so ranch gold will not reach you automatically. Last updated in July 2026, after 1.0. Creator: Syzzle. Needs: UE4SS, PalSchema. Download: Currencies, Keys and More Are Key Items on the Steam Workshop.

21. Pal Surgery Table Unlocker
The Pal Surgery Table implants passive skills, but normally you buy each implant from merchants first. This mod unlocks every implant by default and charges gold instead, from 10,000 for the lowest tier to 300,000 for World Tree implants. Its page says it works on Steam and Game Pass and was ready for v1.0.2. In multiplayer, the server and every client need it. Creator: mEi. Download: Pal Surgery Table Unlocker on Nexus Mods.
Visuals

22. Better Night Light
Palworld’s nights can be hard to see in. Better Night Light replaces the flat night skylight with blue moonlight, brightens the stars and strengthens dawn and sunset lighting, so nights stay readable without looking like daytime. It has more than 5,000 endorsements, and its page lists it as up to date for 1.0, with files for Steam, Game Pass and dedicated servers. Creator: LPYRO. Download: Better Night Light on Nexus Mods.

23. Hide Backpacks, Lanterns and Back Weapons
A cosmetic favorite for anyone who spent time on character creation or screenshots: it hides the backpack, lantern, weapons on your back and the folded glider wing pack, so your outfit shows. Its page says it works with vanilla and modded outfits, it covers both Steam and Game Pass, and it was last updated on July 17, 2026, after 1.0. Creator: notrustk. Download: Hide Backpacks on Nexus Mods.
Sandbox and Save Tools

24. Creative Menu
Creative Menu is a sandbox tool that opens with F1 (or by holding crouch for three seconds). It spawns items, Pals and NPCs, and lets you set a Pal’s stats, IVs, active skills and passives before it appears. It also comes from Okaetsu, the PalSchema creator, and does not need UE4SS. In multiplayer, host and player both need it, plus admin permission. Creator: Okaetsu. Download: Creative Menu on Nexus Mods.

25. PalEdit
PalEdit is a standalone save editor rather than an in-game mod. It lets you edit passive skills and stats on Pals in your save, or clone a Pal and change its species, which skips the breeding grind for perfect passives. It was updated in August 2026, and its page repeats the one rule that matters: back up your save files first. Creator: Eternal Wraith. Download: PalEdit on Nexus Mods.
How We Chose These Mods
We picked mods with long track records and large followings (Nexus endorsements, Workshop subscriber counts) and checked each one on its creator’s page on September 21, 2026 for three things: that it is free, that it was updated for Palworld 1.0 or says it works on it, and that the download comes from the creator. We left out adult mods, mods not updated since before 1.0, and model swaps that borrow characters from other franchises. We also left out popular early access mods whose pages have not been updated for 1.0. Many best-mods lists online still recommend these, but Pocketpair’s own 1.0 notice warns that leftover mod files can break saves. If a mod is not on its creator’s page, do not download it from anywhere else: re-upload sites spread outdated and sometimes malicious files.
Palworld modding follows a pattern we have seen with other survival games reaching 1.0; our Valheim 1.0 mod compatibility guide and best Valheim mods list cover the same cycle there, and our best Sims 4 mods list uses the same checks. If you would rather finish the 1.0 story unmodded first, our Panthalus boss guide covers the fight. Most mods here also work in co-op, and if your group wants something new to play together, see our best PC co-op games of 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Palworld have official mod support? Yes. Pocketpair added Steam Workshop support in the v0.7 update in December 2025, with an in-game Mod Management menu under Options. It is only available in the Steam version, and Pocketpair notes that some servers, including official ones, do not allow mods.
Why did my Palworld mods stop working? Game updates change the files mods rely on, and 1.0 was a major overhaul. Pocketpair recommends backing up your save, deleting old mod files from the game folder (disabling them is not enough), verifying game files on Steam, and reinstalling mods only after their creators confirm they have been updated.
What should I install first? UE4SS, then PalSchema. Most mods on this list need one or both, and their pages list any other requirements. Do not install both the Workshop and Nexus versions of UE4SS, because loading two copies crashes the game.
Do Palworld mods work on Xbox, PlayStation or Game Pass? Console versions do not support mods. Several Nexus mods on this list include Game Pass PC files, but the Steam Workshop is Steam only.
Are these mods free? Yes. Every mod on this list is free to download from its creator’s page. Some creators accept optional tips, but nothing here is paywalled.
