Silent Hill: Townfall launched on September 24, 2026, and within hours Konami posted two follow-ups on Steam: a fix for pre-order and Deluxe Edition DLC that was not unlocking, and an acknowledgement that it is working on a patch for “performance-related issues affecting the Steam version.” The launch announcement sums up the premise: Simon Ordell returns to the island town of St. Amelia “to put things right.”
The Performance Patch
Konami’s update plans notice is short. It says the team is working on an update to address performance problems in the Steam version, and that the release date will be announced once it is confirmed, through the official Townfall website and the Silent Hill social channels. It does not describe the specific problems, give a timeframe, or mention the PS5 version.
The DLC Unlock Fix
The second notice covers the Pre-purchase and Deluxe Edition bonuses. Konami says it has resolved an issue that stopped some DLC content from unlocking. If you had already started playing, exit the game, make sure you are connected to the internet, and restart the Steam app, and the content should appear.
What This Means for Players
If you are on PC and the game is running poorly, it is not just your machine: Konami has confirmed there is a problem and a patch is coming. Until it lands, our guide to Townfall’s PC requirements and Steam Deck performance covers the settings worth checking. Deluxe Edition owners who were missing items should restart Steam before assuming anything is wrong with their purchase; our editions and pre-order bonuses guide lists exactly what each tier includes.
For everyone starting today, the questions most players have in the first hours are covered: how to save, which difficulty to pick, how many endings there are and how long it takes to beat. Everything else is on our Silent Hill hub.
