There are 15 Strange Postcards in Silent Hill: Townfall, and collecting all of them unlocks a hidden trophy, Blur Your Eyes. PowerPyx, GameRant, TheGamer and Hardcore Gamer all count 15. They only appear while you play as Simon, none are in the Richard section, and they are the one collectible that stays in your inventory in New Game Plus, where their symbols point to a locked door tied to a secret ending.
Every location is below, in order. Location spoiler note: this guide names areas from all six Parts of the game, but no story events.
Before You Start
- They are missable within a run. There is no chapter select and no backtracking, per PowerPyx. TheGamer notes Part 1’s postcards lock off once you finish the scale puzzle at the Shorefront Family Clinic.
- Progress carries over. Postcards you already own stay in your Documents in New Game Plus and do not reappear, so you only hunt the ones you missed.
- They do not affect your ending score. PowerPyx says only Clues and Documents count as Discoveries; our endings guide explains the system.
- Save often. Dial 100 on any phone; see our saving guide.
Only about 2% of Steam players had Blur Your Eyes on September 29, per Steam’s global stats, so it is worth being methodical.
Part 1: Arrival (Postcards 1 to 4)
- Chapter 3, Video Star. West of the Town Square at the end of the road, go into the Video Star store; the postcard is on the counter. GameRant places the store on the far left of the island, just left of Zoe’s House.
- Chapter 4, alley behind building 3. Go through the south entrance of St. Amelia Park and turn left (the objective points right). In the back alley behind building 3, it is on the ground by a dumpster and a red cooler.
- Chapter 4, Farrow Street. At the west end of Farrow Street, walk to the dead end; the postcard is stuck to the wall. GameRant: go left from the Farrow Street phone box.
- Chapter 4, apartment building. In the apartment building near Farrow Street Parking (Hardcore Gamer, TheGamer and GameRant call it building 16; PowerPyx describes it as south of building 14), go to the second-floor flat, into the child’s bedroom, and look on the floor at the end of the bed. You come here in the story anyway, while looking for Jess’s keys.
Part 2: Zoe (Postcards 5 and 6)
These are in Simon’s section of Part 2, in Chapter 6.
- The Wynds. From the phone booth by marker 15, take the alleyway west and go down the stairwell to a dead end; the postcard is beside some boots.
- Apartment south of the Medical Centre. On the ground floor, go out the back door (away from the Medical Centre) and check the last shed on the left, across from the swing set.
Part 3: The Patient (Postcards 7 to 9)
All three are in Chapter 8, in the changed version of the Medical Center.
- X-Ray room. Right at the start of the chapter, on the counter at the back of the X-ray room (the door on your right as you regain control).
- Ward W, room 06. On the table. You need the ward’s Master Key; TheGamer says it is in room W04, GameRant says W05, so check both.
- Ward P, room 08. Open the medical cabinet on the wall. GameRant says the room opens after turning the two valves upstairs, and warns you cannot re-enter the ward after leaving, so grab it straight away. Our Medical Center puzzle solutions cover the blood bag puzzle happening around it.
Part 4: Clara Woods (Postcards 10 to 14)
TheGamer warns this Part has points of no return, so sweep each area before moving on.
- Chapter 9, the shed off the street. After the long street, take the right fork toward the dead end where a black car is parked. Enter the alley between two buildings, go through two gates into the back yard, and find the postcard on a shelf in the shed.
- Chapter 10, Estate Upper Level apartment. In the upstairs apartment, the back-left bedroom from the entrance, in the dresser drawer. GameRant: the building opposite the phone booth.
- Chapter 10, the shop window opposite Atlas Computers. Break the display window with a melee weapon, throwable or gunshot and take the postcard from the table inside.
- Chapter 10, past the Overpass. Cross the Overpass, ignore 5 Upper Brae on your right and go left to the dead end; it is on the ground beside a metal cart or cage.
- Chapter 10, 5 Upper Brae. During the tape puzzle, switch the player to the Tomorrow tape, go downstairs and out the back door with the Back Door Key, walk down the alley and crouch into the shed; the postcard is on the table.
Part 6: Simon (Postcard 15)
- Chapter 14, CEG HQ pipes. In the second pipe-crawl section (after a short ladder and a vent door), turn right, then left at the four-way split, and pick it up at the dead end. PowerPyx, Hardcore Gamer and TheGamer agree on right then left; GameRant says to keep left, so if you hit a dead end without it, try the other branch.
What the Postcards Are For
Spoiler warning for New Game Plus content. Each postcard carries a symbol, and together they hint at the button order for a locked door upstairs in the Haldane Hotel that only opens in New Game Plus. Behind it is the item for the Sci-fi ending. PowerPyx notes you can enter the order without owning the postcards; TheGamer suggests collecting them so you have the clues. Our ending requirements guide gives the full sequence, and our New Game Plus guide covers the mode. For the other collectible trophies, see our phone numbers guide, CRTV signal locations and the Silent Hill guides hub.
