Silent Hill Townfall: All CRTV Signal Locations

Simon holding the CRTV device on a foggy street in Silent Hill Townfall

The Sweeping Signals trophy in Silent Hill: Townfall asks you to “tune into all signals on the CRTV.” PowerPyx counts 18 signals across the game, while GameRant counts 19; the difference is one radio in the CEG Tower security room that only GameRant lists, so pick it up to be safe. Only signals that play a video count, and your progress carries over between playthroughs.

Below is every signal in order, with the approximate channel. Values are rounded: guides disagree by 2 to 5 points on several, so sweep slowly around each number.

Location spoiler note: this guide names areas from every Part of the game, but no story events.

How Signals Work

There are two kinds, per PowerPyx:

  • Free signals. Tune the CRTV to the channel until the tracking dot sits in the box, then press X (PS5) to store it.
  • Table radios. Interact with a radio, tilt the CRTV with the right stick until the colors stop moving, then fit the colors into the boxes with the D-pad. On PS5 you can switch off “Enable CRTV Motion Sensor controls” in the control options if you would rather not tilt the controller.

Enemy-tracking channels do not count toward the trophy, and none of the signals are required for the story. Our CRTV guide explains tuning in general.

Part 1 Signals

  1. Chapter 2, Haldane Hotel Room 204 (“A Different Place”): about 50.
  2. Chapter 2, same room: just over 60. This is also the signal that feeds the Room 204 door dial.
  3. Chapter 3, Shorefront South: about 45, as soon as the chapter starts after the opening credits.
  4. Chapter 4, approaching the Town Square: about 17. GameRant gives about 15, after the organ box puzzle in Zoe’s House.
  5. Chapter 4, the Pharmacy back room: a table radio on channel 30.

Part 2 and Part 3 Signals

  1. Chapter 6, right after leaving the Clinic: about 63 (GameRant: about 65).
  2. Chapter 6, the apartment south of the Medical Centre, second floor: a table radio, about 25.
  3. Chapter 8, Medical Center (the changed version), as Simon: after squeezing through the crack in the wall, the radio on the table, about 28.

Part 4 Signals (Clara Woods)

Clara Woods is where most players miss signals, because the estate is big and the chapter has points of no return.

  1. Chapter 9: the radio on the table in the store before the sign where you pick up the Clara Woods map, about 61. GameRant describes it as the newsagent opposite the estate entrance sign.
  2. Chapter 10: interact with the metal pipe structure at the Strange Gate at the end of Atlas Way, then tune to about 62.
  3. Chapter 10: the building left of CEG Staff Parking on the map, about 67.
  4. Chapter 10, 5 South Brae living room: the table radio left of the TV, about 59.
  5. Chapter 10: right after taking the items from Locker 17, about 59.
  6. Chapter 10: leaving the Upper Brae house after the tape puzzle, about 29.
  7. Chapter 10: after collecting all three mechanical parts, about 65. – Chapter 11, CEG Tower security room (GameRant only): a radio on the table by the computer. PowerPyx does not list it, but tune it anyway; if it counts in your game, it would explain the 18 versus 19 split.

Part 6 Signals

  1. Chapter 14, CEG HQ (the changed version): entering the main room with the “FIX THIS” puzzle, the radio on the desk to the right, about 42.
  2. Chapter 14: after the crawl pipes past that puzzle, go into the room on the left instead of down the ladder; the radio is in the pipe, about 42.
  3. Chapter 15, SWDP (the changed version): after the JOE key, squeeze through the gap in the wall; the radio is on the bed next to a document, about 55.

There are no signals in Part 5, per PowerPyx’s list.

If the Trophy Does Not Pop

Sweeping Signals is rarer than it should be: Steam’s global stats showed about 6% of players had it on September 29. The usual causes:

  1. A Clara Woods signal was skipped. Numbers 10 to 15 are easy to walk past while chasing locker codes. Our chapter guide explains why you cannot go back.
  2. The security room radio. If you have 18 and no trophy, the Chapter 11 radio is the likely gap.
  3. You stored a monster channel. Only video signals count.

Because progress carries across runs, you can mop up in New Game Plus without redoing the ones you already have. The game does not show which you found earlier, though, so note them down as you go. Frequently Asked Questions

How many CRTV signals are in Silent Hill Townfall? PowerPyx counts 18 and GameRant counts 19. The extra one is a radio in the CEG Tower security room in Chapter 11.

Are CRTV signals missable? Within a run, yes, because you cannot backtrack. Progress carries over, so New Game Plus can finish the set.

Do enemy-tracking channels count? No. Only channels that play a video count toward Sweeping Signals.

Do you need motion controls for the table radios? No. You can turn off the CRTV motion sensor controls on PS5 and use the sticks and D-pad instead.
