To Woohoo in The Sims 2, get two adult (or older) Sims in love, have both Relax on a double bed, then click the partner and choose Woohoo from the pie menu. The base game gives you the bed and the hot tub; every expansion after it added more places, and the Legacy Collection includes all of them. This guide covers the relationship requirements, the bed and hot tub method, every other Woohoo spot and the pack that adds it, the Try for Baby difference, and who is not allowed.
The Relationship You Need
Woohoo is a romantic interaction, so it needs romantic standing, not just friendship. In practice both Sims should have a crush on each other at minimum, and the option becomes reliable once they are in love with high daily relationship. Build it with Flirt, then Kiss and Make Out; each success raises the relationship and opens the next social. Both Sims also need to be in a decent mood, since a Sim with red needs rejects romance.
Marriage, engagement or Going Steady are not required. Two Sims who are in love can Woohoo whether they live together or not, and a Sim who is married to someone else can Woohoo with a lover, which is where jealousy and cheating memories come in if the spouse sees it.
Bed and Hot Tub
For the bed, both Sims need a double bed. Click it and choose Relax with the first Sim, then have the second Sim Relax on the same bed. With both lying down, click the partner and the romantic socials appear: Cuddle, Make Out, and Woohoo once the relationship qualifies. If you see Try for Baby next to it, that is the pregnancy version covered below.
The hot tub works the same way and is in the base game too, not an expansion: both Sims Join the hot tub, then click the partner for the Woohoo option. Hot tub Woohoo is one of the common Romance aspiration wants, so it is worth the price of the tub for a Romance Sim.
Every Other Location and Its Pack
Each expansion added at least one new spot, and each new spot became a want for Romance Sims. Since the Legacy Collection includes every expansion, all of these are available in a current copy; the older Ultimate Collection has them all too. By pack:
- Nightlife: cars (Woohoo in the back seat, from the car’s pie menu once both Sims are inside) and the photo booth on community lots.
- Open for Business: the changing booth and the elevator, both on community or home lots.
- Bon Voyage: the tent (also usable at home), the hammock and the sauna.
Player documentation also lists a few vacation-lot objects with Woohoo options; treat anything beyond the list above as unconfirmed. Public Woohoo in a car or booth can be seen by other Sims, and a jealous partner reacts, so keep an eye on who is on the lot. University Young Adults can Woohoo like adults, which makes dorm life what it is; see our university guide.
Woohoo Versus Try for Baby
Woohoo never causes pregnancy. Try for Baby appears alongside it on a bed, and on most of the other objects once the relationship qualifies, and has a chance to conceive; a lullaby chime after the interaction means it worked. Only an adult female and an adult (or elder) male can conceive this way, and same-sex couples Woohoo but adopt. The pregnancy guide covers the three days that follow, and how to age up a baby covers the days after that.
Elders can Woohoo but an elder female cannot Try for Baby, and Sims in the same family tree never get the option at all.
Who Cannot Woohoo
Teens cannot Woohoo in an unmodded game, in any pack, in any edition. The most a teen relationship reaches is Make Out and Going Steady, and the Woohoo option never appears for them regardless of the object; claims that teens can Woohoo in University beds are wrong, because University’s Young Adults are a separate, older life stage. Children and younger obviously cannot either. Anything beyond that requires third-party mods, which the Legacy Collection treats the same way as older editions; our mod installation guide covers where they go.
Legacy patch notes through April 2025 list nothing that touches Woohoo, so verified against those notes, the interaction works as it always has. If a Sim refuses despite being in love, check moods first, then whether one of them is still standing rather than relaxing on the bed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do my Sims have to be married to Woohoo? No. They need to be in love (or at least have crushes) with a strong daily relationship. Marriage is optional.
Why is Woohoo not showing up on the bed? Both Sims must be lying down via Relax, both in a good mood, and the relationship must be romantic enough. Try a Make Out first, then check again.
Can teens Woohoo in The Sims 2? Not without mods. Young Adults at university can, but they are a different life stage from teens.
Which expansion adds car Woohoo? Nightlife. It also adds the photo booth. Both packs are in the Legacy Collection.
Does Woohoo raise the relationship? Yes, it gives a relationship boost and a memory, and it satisfies Woohoo wants, which are frequent for Romance Sims.
