Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve has 56 PS5 trophies (1 platinum, 2 gold, 5 silver and 48 bronze), and its 55 Steam achievements are the same list without the platinum. Thirty-three are hidden, almost all of them story trophies, and nearly every requirement names Campaign Mode rather than Ace Combat Online.
Below is the complete list with hidden entries marked, then the trophies that take real work. This covers the launch version, including the Deluxe Edition’s early access that our launch trailer news covers.
Where This List Comes From
The names, grades and descriptions below are the PS5 list as published on PSN and mirrored by trophy trackers. Steam uses identical names and wording for all 55 achievements and hides the same 33. The Xbox Series X|S achievement list and its gamerscore split were not yet visible on public trackers when we checked, so we have not listed them.
Story Trophies (Hidden)
Spoiler note: hidden trophy names hint at later story beats. Skip this table if you want to go in blind.
Each is a hidden bronze for finishing that part of the campaign on any difficulty. The final one, Promised Land, is a hidden silver for completing Campaign Mode. The list confirms 30 numbered missions after a prologue, and our how long to beat guide covers campaign length.

The Trophies That Take Real Work
- Ace of Aces and The Ace: both name an ACE difficulty, which is not one of the four settings (Rookie, Pilot, Veteran and Elite) that Bandai Namco described in its pre-launch difficulty post. Trophy guides call it the highest difficulty, but how it unlocks had not been officially confirmed when we checked. DayOne’s review notes that finished missions can be replayed for an S rank, so the cleanup can be done one mission at a time.
- A Record of Rivalry: per the community wiki, Assault Records in Ace Combat Zero, 6 and 7 were collections of named enemy aircraft. Bandai Namco has not detailed how Ace Combat 8 fills its list.
- MRP Aplenty and Patron of the Parts: Bandai Namco describes MRP as the currency earned in Campaign Mode and spent on the Aircraft Tree, so these come from replaying missions at high ranks. Our planes list covers the tree, and our best early plane guide covers the first purchases.
- Plane Coordinator: CGMagazine reports that skin and emblem editing opens only after the campaign concludes or in online play, so this one comes late.
- Yes, Sir! and All Weapons Free: wingman orders sit on the D-pad, per Bandai Namco, and special weapon permission is its own order. Flight stick owners should check our HOTAS and controls guide for where those land.
Whether the Platinum Needs Online Play
No trophy mentions Ace Combat Online by name, and Bandai Namco says online mode has “its own progression and save data separate from Campaign Mode.” Five entries do not name a mode, though: the two MRP trophies, Meritorious Service, A Record of Rivalry and Welcome to Boot Camp. The MRP pair should come from the campaign, since that is where Bandai Namco says MRP is earned, and Bandai Namco has not tied medals or assault records to a mode. Welcome to Boot Camp asks for “training mode,” and the official Air Base description includes a “military training mode,” so it may be tied to the online lobby. We will confirm once launch players report it; our multiplayer guide covers the Air Base, and the rest of our coverage is on the Ace Combat 8 hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many trophies does Ace Combat 8 have? There are 56 on PS5, including the platinum, and 55 achievements on Steam with the same names.
Which trophies are hidden? Thirty-three: the prologue and all 30 mission trophies, Promised Land for finishing the campaign, and the gold Ace of Aces.
What is the hardest trophy? Ace of Aces, which asks for an S rank on every mission, free missions included, on ACE difficulty.
Can you miss any trophies? Reviewers say beaten missions can be replayed, so nothing looks permanently missable. By the Book tracks takeoffs and refuelings, so fly those segments carefully.
How long does the platinum take? We have not seen a verified estimate yet. Hardcore Gamer’s reviewer finished the campaign in about 20 hours, and the ACE difficulty goals come on top of that.
