No, not at launch. AION 2‘s global version launches on PC only, through Steam and NC’s own PURPLE launcher, and NC has not announced a PS5 or Xbox release; its producer has said a console version is being prepared for after the PC launch, with no platform or date named.

Every Platform AION 2 Runs On
AION 2 exists as two separate services, and they do not share platforms:

NC America’s April 2026 announcement was blunt: “the AION 2 global version is built specifically for PC.” The Steam store page lists Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) only, with DirectX 12 and 100 GB of storage. The global game is free to play; a paid Founder’s Pack only buys the five days of early access and extras, which our Founder’s Pack guide breaks down, and our release time guide has the unlock schedule.
NC’s support site also lists countries where AION 2 Global cannot be played or bought. Beyond Korea and Taiwan, which have their own service, the list includes China, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Russia, Belarus, Belgium and the Netherlands, among others. Check it before you pay for anything.
Whether AION 2 Is Coming to PS5 or Xbox
There is no console version on any store and no official console announcement from NC. The closest thing to a confirmation came from producer Namjoon Kim in a gamescom 2026 interview with Wccftech: “As a matter of fact, we’re preparing a console launch as well. But our priority is the global launch first, and console support will follow after that.”
That is a plan, not a release. Kim named no console and gave no window. On cross-play he said NC has not made a clear decision, but “for now cross-play probably won’t be supported between PC and console, because the usage and the gameplay are different, and the timing of the launch is different for PC and console.”
If that plan holds, a future console version would not put you on the same servers as friends who start on PC this October. If you want to play at launch, PC is the only option, and nothing NC has said suggests waiting for PS5 will get you into the same world later.
Whether There Is a Mobile Version
Only in Korea and Taiwan. NC built AION 2 there as a PC and mobile game with cross-platform play, and its Korean launch announcement said the game was “available both on mobile and PC.”
The global version drops mobile entirely. NC’s pre-release FAQ says “The global version is currently being developed exclusively for PC platforms,” and NC America’s Merv Lee Kwai went further at gamescom, telling Wccftech: “Sadly, there are no plans for the mobile version.”
Steam or PURPLE: Which PC Version to Pick
It is the same game on the same servers either way. NC’s Founder’s Pack notice says “All platforms share the same servers, so all players can play together regardless of their purchase platform.”
The catch is early access. A Founder’s Pack only works on the storefront you bought it from: buy on Steam and your five early days are Steam only, buy on PURPLE and they are PURPLE only. NC says cross-platform access between the two is not supported during early access.
After that, characters follow your account, per NC’s support FAQ:
- Steam character on PURPLE: open PURPLE, choose the Steam login option, and sign in with the same Steam account.
- PURPLE character on Steam: if you signed into PURPLE with Steam, just launch through Steam. If you used an NC account, go to nc.com, sign in, open My Page, select Account Linking, and link your Steam account first.

Controllers, Mac, Linux and Steam Deck
Controllers: NC’s FAQ says “While AION 2 is playable with a controller, we are still evaluating if full controller support is within our scope for launch.” Merv Lee Kwai told Wccftech “Absolutely, controllers are supported,” but the Steam page does not list controller support as of September 28. Expect a pad to work, and do not count on every menu being built for one on day one. For reference, NC’s Korean guidebook lists controller support as a beta with an Xbox-style layout: X for a basic attack, Y for a heavy attack, B to dodge or sprint, A to jump, RB plus A to take off or land, and LT, RB and RT combinations for the other skill and item slots. Mac and Linux: neither is listed. The store page is Windows only, and NC has announced no native version for either.
Steam Deck: Valve has not rated AION 2 for Deck compatibility yet (Steam’s compatibility report for the game is blank as of September 28), and NC has said nothing about the handheld. Treat it as unverified until Valve rates it.
