To meditate in Inzoi, your Zoi needs a yoga mat: click the mat and choose Meditate from its interaction list. The option is not on the self-interaction menu and it does not appear on bare floor, which is why so many players cannot find it. Below we cover where to get a mat, the temple mats in Cahaya, the fitness requirement that hides the option for some age groups, what meditation does for your Zoi in the current build, and how the 2025 advice about karma no longer holds.
Get a yoga mat
The yoga mat is a Build Mode object. Enter Build Mode on your lot, search the catalogue for “yoga” (furniture can be browsed by activity type as well as by room since v0.9.0, which makes exercise gear easy to find) and place the mat anywhere with a little clearance. If you are short on money, our how to buy things guide covers earning and spending, but a mat is cheap.
Once it is down, click it. The mat carries a family of interactions, not just meditation: the v0.5.0 patch notes list Do Push-Ups (which now plays different animations depending on the Zoi’s Fitness level) and the Do Warrior Pose yoga interaction (which can be performed at any Fitness level since that patch), alongside stretching and squats that are no longer tied to the mat at all. Meditate sits in the same list.
One quality-of-life change from the August 2026 outfit rework: exercising at home, including yoga on your own mat, no longer forces an outfit change. The developer made home workouts the one exception to situational looks, so your Zoi meditates in whatever they are wearing.
The fitness requirement
If you click the mat and Meditate is not there, the usual cause is the Fitness skill. Early player reports on the Steam forums (May 2025) found that adult Zois could meditate from Fitness level 0, while teenagers needed a noticeably higher Fitness level before the option appeared, even when the teen had a want to meditate. Those are player findings rather than official numbers, and no patch note since has mentioned changing the gate, so assume it still applies.
The fix is simply to raise Fitness: read a fitness book, use the mat’s push-up and yoga interactions, or jog around the block (see how to sprint and run faster). Skill training also feeds into the same routine as studying, so a Zoi who books time for both progresses quickly.
Also check that the Zoi is not mid-interaction. Inzoi queues actions, and a queued meal or shower will play before the meditation starts; cancel the queue from the bottom-left icons if you want it now.
Meditating in Cahaya
If you own the Island Getaway DLC (free to anyone who bought the game during Early Access, per the September 2026 store promotion), the resort city of Cahaya has a temple area with a row of mats laid out for group yoga and meditation, and an instructor NPC named Suara Dalam who leads sessions there. The instructor is real: the v0.4.0 patch notes fixed a bug where “instructor NPC Suara Dalam performed meditation in an incorrect location”. Player guides describe walking up to any of the temple mats and picking Meditate or a yoga pose from the same list you get at home.
Getting there is a vacation. The v0.10.0 update rebuilt city travel so you pick who goes, which accommodation you stay in and for how long, and the notes are clear that Cahaya “is only accessible with the inZOI: Island Getaway DLC installed”. Dowon, meanwhile, has a Spiritual Academy that appears in the patch notes as a scheduled activity destination; it is a rabbit-hole style trip rather than a place you meditate on screen.
What meditation does now
The honest answer in the current build: meditation is an emotional reset and a small Fitness activity, not a progression system. Your Zoi sits, breathes and comes out calmer, which matters because Inzoi’s emotion system drives autonomy and conversation options. The August 2026 “Sticks and Stones” emotion rework tied memories, thought bubbles and dialogue choices more tightly to mood, so a way to take the edge off an angry or stressed Zoi is more useful than it was at launch.
What meditation does not verifiably do is raise karma. The original 2025 version of this guide said it did, and that it did so faster for Zois with a “Spiritual” trait. We can find no official source for either claim, and Inzoi’s 18-trait list does not include a trait by that name. On top of that, the v0.4.0 update in October 2025 hid the karma score entirely, and the developer’s January 2026 design letter describes karma as a background “luck” value driven by how you treat other Zois. Our how to increase karma guide has the full picture; meditation is not on the list.
If you want meditation to be part of a routine anyway, add it to the Zoi’s schedule (L opens Edit Schedule) so autonomy handles it daily. More Zoi daily-life basics are on the Inzoi guides hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Meditate option in Inzoi? On a yoga mat. Click the mat and pick Meditate from its interaction list. It is not in the self-interaction menu.
Why can’t my teenage Zoi meditate? Player reports say teens need a higher Fitness skill than adults before the option appears. Raise Fitness with a fitness book or the mat’s other exercises.
Do I need the DLC to meditate? No. Any yoga mat works at home. The Island Getaway DLC only adds the Cahaya temple mats and the instructor NPC.
Does meditation increase karma? Nothing official says so, and karma has been a hidden stat since October 2025. Treat meditation as a mood and fitness activity.
Will my Zoi change into workout clothes to meditate? Not at home. Since the August 2026 outfit update, exercising on your own lot is the one situation that does not trigger an automatic outfit change.
