Buying things in Inzoi happens in three places: Build Mode (press I at home) for furniture and appliances, physical stores in the city for clothes, hair, flowers, food and gear, and the smartphone (press P) for gifts, groceries, vehicles and services delivered to your door. Everything is paid in Mew, the in-game cash, and most purchases land in your Zoi’s bag or wardrobe. This guide covers each channel as it works in the current build, what changed since the launch version, and how to sell things back.
Furniture and Appliances in Build Mode
Build Mode is still the main way to furnish a home, and it has been reorganised twice since 2025.
- Press I (or click the house icon) on a property you own. Anything you place is charged to the household the moment you confirm, and the price shows on the item card.
- Since the v0.9.0 update in June 2026, furniture can be browsed by activity type as well as by room type, so you can search for “things that fix Hunger” instead of hunting through Kitchen.
- The v0.10.0 update in September 2026 moved the furniture categories to the right of the item list and added a weathering slider, so objects can look worn or new.
- To store an item instead of selling it, use Put in Inventory (B) while it is selected. The multi-select tools added in v0.8.0 (hold Shift and drag) let you move or store a whole room at once.
The September 2026 update also added a notification when a house is missing a piece of furniture a Zoi needs, which is a useful shopping list if you are starting on a bare lot. Some purchases are gated: a few hairstyles and outfits can only be obtained at the hair salon or clothing store rather than in Create a Zoi, per the v0.9.0 notes.
Shopping in City Stores
Physical stores expanded a lot once the business system arrived in December 2025, because many of them are now shops another Zoi (or you) can own.
- Clothing stores: added as a business type in v0.9.0. Mannequins display outfit combinations, and buying from one adds the look to your wardrobe. Our guide to changing outfits and getting clothes covers what to do with them afterwards.
- Hair salons: added in v0.8.0. Sit in a salon chair to buy a cut; v0.9.0 keeps your hair colour and lets you request a refund if the cut fails. See how to change hair.
- Flower shops: added in v0.5.0. Bouquets are bought by selecting the Flower Shop Basket at the counter, not from staff, which the developer has said it wants to improve.
- Resale Store, Farming Supply Store and Surf Shop: the Resale Store (added with Cahaya) buys crops, fish and minerals and sells goods at prices that change daily; the Farming Supply Store sells seasonal produce such as pumpkins in autumn; the surf shop sells surfboards and rents or sells diving suits since v0.10.0. Our surfing guide covers what to do once you own a board.
- Restaurants and cafes: since v0.10.0, a group is seated, orders from a menu, and pays after eating. Kiosks on business properties also sell directly (a v0.9.6 hotfix fixed purchases there failing).
One thing that did change: the v0.2.0 update in June 2025 removed vending machines from prison and limited inmates to set meal times, so do not count on buying snacks while serving a sentence.
Buying From the Smartphone
Press P to open the phone. The shopping apps as of the current build:
- Pocket Market: gifts and groceries. It was expanded in v0.2.0 with Luxury, Practical, Charming and Silly categories, and v0.6.0 moved seasonal ingredients into a Fresh tab. Purchases arrive in the bag; a v0.10.2 hotfix stopped Zois throwing away Pocket Market items on their own.
- Dream Car: vehicles, added with the Island Getaway update in August 2025. There is an age check, and since v0.7.0 a new car parks itself in any family-exclusive space you own. See how to drive.
- Insurance, Loans and Budget: also from August 2025. Loans can be repaid early from the phone or a computer, and the Budget app tracks household income and spending so you can see what a shopping habit costs.
- ATM cash: since June 2025 you can withdraw cash at an ATM and hand money to another Zoi directly.
Deliveries are situational: while on a vacation booked through the v0.10.0 travel system, food and goods can be ordered to the accommodation.
Selling and Storing What You Bought
Selling has become far less fiddly. Since v0.4.0, items no longer need to leave the bag to be sold, and since v0.7.0 you can multi-select and sell a whole stack at once. Build Mode furniture sells back from the property, and stands and crops are owned by the family rather than one Zoi, so any household member can deal with them. If you are moving house, our moving guide explains what travels with you.

Frequently Asked Questions
What currency does Inzoi use? Mew, which most players spell Meow. The developer’s cheat list uses Mew, and the same list documents addMoney [amount] if you want to skip earning it.
Can I buy clothes without visiting a store? Create a Zoi still holds most of the catalogue for free, but v0.9.0 added a handful of outfits and hairstyles that are only sold at the clothing store and hair salon.
Where do Pocket Market purchases go? Into your Zoi’s bag. Open it from the action bar, then use the item or gift it to another Zoi.
Do I need to walk to a store? Long trips trigger a teleport pop-up (added in v0.8.0), and scheduled events can skip travel entirely if you enable it under Game Options > Gameplay.
Can my Zoi own the store instead? Yes. Cafes, restaurants, bakeries, bars, flower shops, hair salons and clothing stores are all business presets in the current build, and an owned shop sells to the city as well as to you.
