Gifting in Marvel Rivals runs on Lattice, the premium currency, and never on Units. The recipient has to be on your friends list, you need to be at least account level 20, and you can send three gifts per day. As of the September 17, 2026 patch, Pick Your Own bundles joined the list of giftable items.
The Lattice Rule
This is the restriction that catches everyone. Gifts are purchased with Lattice, which you buy with real money. You cannot pay for a gift with Units, even though Lattice converts into Units at 1:1 and the two look interchangeable in the store.
That one-way conversion is deliberate. Units are the earnable currency and Lattice is the paid one, so anything that moves value between accounts stays on the paid side. Our Units guide covers the split in more detail.
The Requirements
- Account level 20 or higher. This was raised from level 10 in a quieter patch, so older guides still citing 10 are wrong.
- The recipient must be on your in-game friends list. There is no reported waiting period after adding someone.
- Three gifts per day. This was reduced from five in the same patch that raised the level requirement.
- You cannot gift something they already own. The game checks, and in bundles the price automatically drops to cover only the items the recipient is missing.
- Gifts cannot be refunded or recalled. Once it sends, it is gone. You can attach a note when sending.
What Cannot Be Gifted
The exclusion list is long enough to be worth reading before you plan a present:
- The Battle Pass and Luxury Battle Pass
- Lattice, Units, or any other currency
- Lucky Draw event items
- Event-reward and ranked-reward cosmetics
- Accessories
- Anything not currently purchasable in the store
If you want to give someone the Battle Pass specifically, there is no supported way to do it.
The Pick Your Own Bundle Window
The September 17, 2026 update added gifting support for PYO bundles, which let the buyer choose which cosmetics go in. In the official wording, “Gifts are purchased using Lattice, and the price will automatically adjust based on both the cosmetics you select and which items your fellow rival already owns.”
This one comes with a clock. The window runs to October 9, 2026, and it reads as event-limited rather than permanent, so treat PYO gifting as a temporary capability until NetEase says otherwise. Our coverage of that patch has the rest of what shipped alongside it.
