Marvel Rivals: How to Get the Free Thor Avengers Costume

Heroes clashing in a sandstone arena while one leaps in with a crackling weapon in Marvel Rivals

You get Thor’s The Avengers costume in Marvel Rivals by completing quests in the Infinity Finale season event, which runs until December 10, 2026, at 4 AM Eastern (09:00 UTC). It costs nothing: NetEase’s Season 10.5 patch notes tell players to “complete quests to earn Thor’s The Avengers costume for FREE,” so there is nothing to buy and no code to redeem.

There is a second freebie running alongside it with a much shorter clock. Until October 22 at 5 AM Eastern, a quick photo op in Times Square pays 100 Units and a spray. Below is how both work, what the rest of the Infinity Finale pays, and which of its rewards are not free.

What the Infinity Finale Event Is

Infinity Finale is the season event for Season 10.5, which went live on October 9, 2026, at 5 AM Eastern (09:00 UTC) after an estimated two hours of maintenance. It runs alongside Path to Doomsday, NetEase’s series of Marvel Cinematic Universe themed modes, and like the rest of this phase it leans on Avengers: Infinity War.

NetEase’s official event art spells out the shape of it: the event “includes 24 rewards” and is “free to get Thor – The Avengers.” The art features three costumes:

  • Thor – The Avengers, the free one.
  • Doctor Strange – Avengers: Infinity War.
  • Black Panther – Avengers: Infinity War.

The patch notes describe the rest as “Avengers: Infinity War inspired costumes and matching bundle content for Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and more.” Only Thor’s costume is called free.

How to Unlock the Thor Avengers Costume

  1. Update to Season 10.5. The event arrived with Version 20261009, so any client patched since October 9 has it.
  2. Open the Infinity Finale event from the game’s event menu. The event screen lists its quests and the reward track.
  3. Complete the quests. NetEase’s wording is simply “complete quests,” and the event screen shows what each one asks for and how far along you are.
  4. Claim Thor’s costume when your progress reaches it, then equip it on Thor from the Customize menu.

NetEase has not published a quest list or a tier number in its notes. Early player reports, which include screenshots of the event screen, describe a tiered reward track that fills as you complete quests and play matches, with Thor’s costume at Tier 18 of the free track. The same reports say the free track also carries extras such as an Avengers spray and nameplate, a Thor MVP animation and an emote. Check the event screen against that, since NetEase can adjust a track mid-season.

You have until December 10, 2026, at 4 AM Eastern (09:00 UTC). A few early guides list December 6 as the end date instead. NetEase’s notes say December 10, but finishing a few days early costs nothing and removes the doubt.

Which Infinity Finale Rewards Are Not Free

The free costume is one part of a two-track event, the format NetEase has used for its recent season events. Season 9.5’s Creed of Akabba event gave The Punisher’s Sandstorm Soldier costume for free, and NetEase’s notes for it said “some Premium rewards for this event can also be purchased with Units.” September’s Jeff’s Dream Eater event worked the same way, with Venom’s President Ozzy costume free and other costumes behind a premium unlock.

For Infinity Finale, early reports put the Doctor Strange and Black Panther costumes on the premium track, at a reported 990 Lattice. NetEase’s notes do not give a price or say whether Units can pay for any of it, so check the event screen before spending. If you are saving up, our guide to getting Units without paying covers every free source.

The Times Square Bonus: 100 Units and a Spray

This is the part with the tight deadline. Times Square is Marvel Rivals’ non-combat social map, added in Season 5, and for the first two weeks of Season 10.5 it hosts two Infinity War activities.

Iconic Scenes Photo Ops (100 Units). Visit the photo walls outside the Avengers’ Gift Shop in Times Square and take a group photo with the NPCs standing there. Per the patch notes, that instantly earns the Spray – Avengers Emblem and 100 Units.

Highlights Screening (Gallery Card). Head to the viewing area in Times Square and watch the Infinity War clips continuously for two minutes to unlock the Gallery Card – Avengers: Infinity War. The notes stress “continuously,” so stay in the viewing area for the full two minutes rather than wandering off mid-clip.

Both end on October 22, 2026, at 5 AM Eastern (09:00 UTC). That is the same day NetEase’s Dev Vision video says the next mode, Avengers: Endgame, arrives, and the video promises Times Square will “host a series of interactive activities” through both events. The earlier Age of Ultron photo op, which ran from July 30 to August 27, also paid 100 Units, so each film phase has brought its own.

Tips Most Players Miss

  • Do the photo op first. It takes a minute and expires seven weeks before the Thor event does.
  • The Infinity Gauntlet is a different reward. NetEase’s patch notes first listed the Infinity Gauntlet accessory under the store, then corrected that on X: it is earned free by completing mission objectives in the Infinity War mode, which also pays “assorted rewards, such as Unstable Molecules and Units.” Our guide to Unstable Molecules explains what those are for.
  • The event track is not the battle pass. The battle pass runs on Chrono Tokens from daily and weekly missions, so clear those in the same sessions you spend on Infinity Finale quests. Our guide to progressing the battle pass faster explains how the two differ.
  • More Season 10.5 events are on the way. NetEase’s Dev Vision video dates a Halloween event, All Hallows Glow, for October 15 and a puzzle event, Night of Illusions, for October 29.
