Humidity in Pokemon Pokopia is a per-biome measure of how much water is in an area, and it feeds directly into Pokemon comfort. Each Pokedex entry lists an ideal humidity, and matching it raises comfort and the odds that species will settle there. Crucially, this is terrain you build, not weather you wait for.
Checking the Number
You cannot see humidity in a menu. You have to ask a Pokemon.
Talk to a Pokemon with the Yawn specialty and ask it to Yawn, and you get a numeric humidity reading for the whole biome. Slowpoke is currently the only Pokemon with that specialty, so befriending one is effectively a prerequisite for doing any of this deliberately.
Raising It
Water everything with Water Gun. Dry plants, grass, flowers and trees all count. More living, hydrated vegetation means higher humidity, which is why watering is worth doing even when you are not farming.
Build a Rain Dance site and have a Water specialty Pokemon perform Rain Dance. This is the fastest method by a distance, because it waters every exposed dry plant at once rather than tile by tile. Squirtle, Wartortle, Shellos, Gastrodon, Slowpoke and Slowbro all have the Water specialty.
Create or enlarge bodies of water. Use the Suck move to relocate water, covered in our water guide, or Rock Smash to widen existing waterways.
Rock Smash the blocks with bubbles on them. Those mark blocked water pathways, and clearing them lets water flow into areas it could not reach.
The Quest That Teaches It
The Withered Wasteland request “Yawn Up a Storm!” is the game’s scripted humidity lesson, and it is worth doing rather than skipping.
It requires unlocking Rock Smash and befriending Slowpoke first, then walks you through building a Horsea Fountain, expanding water flow, planting flower fields, hydrating tall grass, and finishing with a Rain Dance. By the end you have both a much wetter Wasteland and a working understanding of every lever.
Why Bother
Because habitat building is how you fill the Pokedex. You are not catching Pokemon in this game, you are making places they want to live, and humidity is one of the dials that decides whether they show up. Our best Pokemon guide covers which specialties are worth attracting once you can control the conditions.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check humidity in Pokopia?
Ask a Pokemon with the Yawn specialty to Yawn. Slowpoke is currently the only one, and it gives a number for the whole biome.
What is the fastest way to raise humidity?
Build a Rain Dance site and have a Water specialty Pokemon perform Rain Dance, which waters every exposed dry plant at once.
Does humidity depend on the weather?
No. It is driven by terrain and by what you water and build, not by random weather.
Why does humidity matter?
Each Pokemon has an ideal humidity in its Pokedex entry. Matching it raises comfort and makes that species more likely to settle.
