Sims 3: How to Change Lifetime Wish

In The Sims 3, a Sim’s Lifetime Wish represents their ultimate aspiration, offering significant Lifetime Happiness Points upon completion. While selecting the right wish is crucial, circumstances or gameplay goals might prompt a change. This guide outlines how to change a Sim’s Lifetime Wish, both before and after completion.

Changing a Lifetime Wish Before Completion in The Sims 3

If your Sim hasn’t fulfilled their current Lifetime Wish, you have a couple of options to change it:

1. Use the “Change Lifetime Wish” Lifetime Reward

  • Cost: 10,000 Lifetime Happiness Points.
  • How to Access:
    1. Click on the Lifetime Rewards button (the treasure chest icon) in the Sim’s interface.
    2. Scroll through the list and select “Change Lifetime Wish”.
    3. Choose a new Lifetime Wish from the available options.

Note: This reward is only available if the Sim hasn’t completed their current Lifetime Wish. Once fulfilled, this option disappears from the rewards list.

2. Edit in Create-A-Sim (CAS) Using Cheats

  • Steps:
    1. Open the cheat console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C.
    2. Type testingcheatsenabled true and press Enter.
    3. Shift-click on the Sim you wish to edit.
    4. Select “Edit in Create-A-Sim”.
    5. In CAS, navigate to the Lifetime Wish section and select a new one.

Note: This method allows you to change the Lifetime Wish without spending Lifetime Happiness Points.

Changing a Lifetime Wish After Completion in The Sims 3

Once a Sim has achieved their Lifetime Wish, the game doesn’t provide a built-in option to select a new one. However, with the help of mods, this becomes possible:

1. Use the NRaas MasterController Mod

  • Steps:
    1. Install the NRaas MasterController mod.
    2. Click on the Sim whose Lifetime Wish you want to change.
    3. Navigate to NRaas > MasterController > Intermediate > Lifetime Wish.
    4. Select a new Lifetime Wish from the list.

Note: This method allows you to assign a new Lifetime Wish even after the previous one has been completed.

2. Install the “New Lifetime Goals” Mod

  • Overview: This mod enables Sims to select a new Lifetime Wish after completing one in The Sims 3.
  • Features:
    • Prompts the player to choose a new Lifetime Wish upon completion of the current one.
    • Allows multiple changes, providing flexibility in gameplay.

Note: Ensure that mods are compatible with your game version and always back up your save files before installing new mods.
