To drive in Inzoi, buy a vehicle from the Dream Car app on your Zoi’s smartphone, walk up to it once it is parked at home, click it and choose the drive interaction; from there you steer manually with the keyboard or pick a destination on the map and let your Zoi drive there automatically. Since the March 2026 update you can also hop into vehicles parked around the city and ride bicycles, and since June 2026 an optional Advanced Driving Mode adds a handbrake and proper suspension. This guide covers buying, both ways of driving, parking, the advanced mode, and the crashes, weather and arrests that can end a trip early.
Driving is one of the systems the developer has iterated on most since Early Access launched, so a 2025 guide is badly out of date. Everything below is verified against official patch notes.
Buying a vehicle from the Dream Car app
Open the smartphone with P and launch the Dream Car app. The v0.3.0 update in August 2025 expanded the range with 14 vehicles including motorcycles and electric scooters, added three licensed Hyundai models (Staria Lounge, IONIQ 9 and the NEXO), and introduced used vehicles at half the original price, which is the cheap way in for a new household. Pressing a vehicle’s colour icon previews it in that colour before you pay, per the v0.4.0 notes.
There is an age requirement to buy, and the app now tells you when your Zoi is too young rather than silently refusing. Since the March 2026 update, a newly bought vehicle is placed in your household’s private parking space if the property has one; otherwise look for it outside the lot. The purchase itself works like any other shop, which our guide on how to buy things in Inzoi walks through, and since June 2026 any family member can drive a vehicle the household owns, not just the buyer.
Driving manually
Click the vehicle and choose the drive interaction to get in. Steering uses the keyboard’s standard movement keys with the mouse turning the camera; if you have remapped anything, the full list lives in Game Options under Controls, and the in-game shortcut guide shows the active bindings. A speedometer has been shown on screen while driving since October 2025, and U-turns were added in June 2026, so you no longer need a three-point turn to head back.
Traffic is simulated. Your Zoi’s vehicle slows automatically when a collision is about to happen (added March 2026), other cars obey lanes and lights, and the mini map doubles as a GPS once you set a destination. Rain matters in Cahaya: the heavy-rain disaster there stops Zois driving cars entirely, so wait it out or take the trip on foot. If your Zoi is stuck in a vehicle, Emergency Rescue works from inside cars and boats since v0.4.0.
Automatic driving to a destination
You do not have to steer at all. Open the map, pick a destination and choose the travel option that uses your vehicle; your Zoi drives themselves there while you watch or fast-forward. The developer’s notes refer to this as auto-driving, and a bug where the vehicle vanished after saving mid-trip was fixed back in August 2025. The “Move Here” option from the map also works while you are already riding, per the v0.5.0 fixes.
Auto-driving is the practical choice for commutes. Pair it with our guide on how to go to work in Inzoi and your Zoi will never be tardy because you missed a turn.
Bicycles, scooters and city vehicles
The v0.7.0 update in March 2026 changed what counts as a vehicle. Zois can now ride bicycles, and the January 2026 developer letter confirms two Zois can share one bike. Public parking lots were added across the cities, and Zois can drive vehicles they find parked around town, not only ones they own. Be careful with that last one: the same update gave Zois a chance of arrest for stealing another Zoi’s vehicle, and our guide on how to go to jail and get out of prison in Inzoi covers what follows.
On the water, jet skis and hovercraft arrived in December 2025 alongside the existing boats, and Cahaya’s beaches are where they shine.
Advanced Driving Mode
The v0.9.0 update in June 2026 added Advanced Driving Mode as an experimental option. Turning it on adds a handbrake, body roll, suspension, anti-roll behaviour and control of the vehicle while airborne for cars, motorcycles and kickboards, and the same update dropped four vehicle jump ramps into Build Mode for anyone who wants to use that last part. Car crashes gained ragdoll physics in the same patch.
Per the v0.10.0 notes, the Advanced Driving Mode options now live under Game Options > Gameplay, and the mode has its own sound effects. Leave it off for relaxed commuting; switch it on for the ramps.
Crashes, penalties and consequences
Hitting objects damages them, and per v0.7.0 a damaged object will not restore while a Zoi is standing on it. Hitting Zois is worse: vehicle collisions can kill, and since December 2025 a traffic accident sends your Zoi straight to jail rather than to the new court system, which the developer said it would revisit later. Vehicles cannot be used inside prison at all. Karma is part of the same picture, and our guide on how to increase Karma in Inzoi explains how to recover from a bad day on the road.
